Ok, Im totally confused as to the different mufflers out there for the G26. Does anyone here know what the difference between the 957, 942 and SB12R Hatori Mufflers.

I have been looking at those mufflers above and the Century v3. If money was no object, which is the best or are they all pretty much the same.

A friend's spectra g had nothing but problems running the hatori, it would ALWAYS fall off. I can't vouch for which version or whether or not hatori has fixed the problem. I run the century V3 and it has worked very well. I have seen plenty of posts about trouble with the hatori. As a bonus, the century V3 is cheaper.

My vote goes to century V3.

Bergen makes a muffler for the G26. I have one and once mounted according to instructions it stays put. It's pretty quiet when compared to the stock box, and power output seems better then the stock box. I think it costs $200.00 USD.

I had a hatori on my gasser. This pipe was $285.00 at the time of purchase. I had to use back up nuts and red loctite in order to keep it on the heli. I crashed this pipe in a rx battery failure. It destroyed the pipe. I switched to the century v3. It only cost $135.00. I run a bob hanson pro modified engine. I feel that I have the same power and performance.

I almost had a crash in may 20th flight in my Maxum SE Carbon Version w/ 3D max Engine.... a piece from the inside of the Hatori pipe was loose that's why it cause glitch during my flying time.... since then I've been using the Muffler from Real Heli.... it's performance are greater compare to the Hatori.... specially the price it's 3 maxum pipe against 1 hatori pipe....

HATORI

The HATORI PIPE SUCKS!! This is the last pipe you want to go with. It is sooooo poorly designed and can cause flight failure if it starts to come loose. Go with the Century.

Its not a motorcycle,its a chopper. Who's chopper is this. Zed's chopper. Who's Zed?

the early version of the hatori pipe, the SB12, had a very short header on the muffler and a large separate aluminum header. Unfortunately between the aluminum muffler, the aluminum header and the aluminum cylinder, the expansion differentials made it tend to come loose very quickly

In the R version of the muffler, the header was instead made a part of the muffler. A s/s plate is bolted to the cylinder and then the muffler is bolted to the s/s plate. You need to use hi-temp RTV to seal the parts and then tighten the muffler bolts up after it gets hot. This works pretty well and will stay put.

Also, if the model has a lot of vibration, the muffler will tend to loosen more often.
