Hi guys

Had a great day today.

It started off at 6:30 with 4 test flights on a shop Synergy......cool shop to lend me a Synergy.....

Needles to say the machine blew me away and I am now the owner of a Synergy kit.

Just need to make a decission on what gyro, servos, and motor/muffler...etc. It will probably be:

Futaba 611 gyro with BL servo...if i can get one
4 x Jr 8715 servos
OS 91 SZ / MP 5 or YS 91 SR / Hatori FH 19
Radix 710
TJ Pro

Can't wait to get going.

Regards

Paul

Hard to say what to go for there is a lot of quality kit out there. YS91SR with SB-19 is getting great write up's, I'm v happy with that combo, smooth and bags of power.

Servo's worth considering the JR 8717 as you can run them at 6v and there fast. Silky smooth in flight.

Radix always a good choice, some say Stick Bangers not tried those yet.

Anyway whatever you go for enjoy it!

My vote

For my two synergys I did the OS 91szps thing, no joy. I now have two YS 91 SR's and OH THE JOY. They pull like freight trains, run smooth, and are easy to tune.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

You can run the 8715's on 6 Volts no worries at all. If you want to save some bucks and weight take a look at the 770/8900 gyro combo as well. Im running the YS ST until I can get my hands on a pair or SR's and loving the complete setup.

As for the servos i have read great reviews about the JR 8717 and the 8715 plus i have used on the N9 9451 and 9351 the 9351 are better, as for the gov get the GV1 the sensor fits better, and try 2 get the hyper hub + collar

If you aint crashing you aint flyin

I'm sure 8715's will run on 6v however thay are sold as follows:

JR DS8715 High Speed/Torque Servo, 12.0kg/0.09s (4.8v Only).

The 8717 are sold as upto 6v although I have seen people running these at 7.4v.

If you have a problem might be tricky with the warranty. Just get the spec to suit your needs, maybe 8717 has more power options and quicker that's all.

Hi guys

Thanks for all the advice.

I got the hyper hub, collar and tail drive. I couldn't resist.....

I have the TJ Pro. I have used one on my Sceadu and find it much better than the GV1's i have used on all my other machines.

I have not seen the Jr 8717, it is not available here. Only the 8715. Keeping the voltage to 5,1v or 5,3v makes the whole setup some what simpler...

I will probably go with an OS 91 SZ Pump and MP5 because of local availability and support. I sometimes pays to buy at your local shop, esp when the shop owner is a great guy and also keen to give assistance, support and good advice. To top it off, he is also one of the best pilots i have ever seen.....

Now just the gyro....Jr770 or Futaba 611.....too many options.

May need to wait till next month the get the rest of the bits. There just seem to be too many days left at the end of my salary!!!!

Thanks again

Paul

Hi, I have the 770 and 611. The only advantage I can see with the 611 is the ability to put delay on the tail start and stop. My 770T on my Lepton is Brutal, and if you go 50% expo seems rather soft around the middle so 30% is a good compromise. I was advised to be kind to the tail (Counter gear) by running delay not just on the Synergy but other 90's I have owned as well and thankfully never stripped a gear in flight, best you can do on the 770T is expo but not really the same.

Both are great gyro's so you can't go too far wrong with either. Nice to see JR competing in this area at last.

Personal choice would be and is a GY-611 for this application.

Hi majicjohnson

Yea, i like the 611. Sticking with the 'tried and tested' is sometimes a good idea.....alot less expensive when the new stuff is not as good as it first seemed.

regards

Paul
