This came about as the wind sometimes rotates the rotors and then the model is at risk of being accidently knocked off a bench. It's easier to refuel or handy to set the pitch at eye level.
All sizes are approximate and adjust them to suit your bird.
Cut the 30mmX30mmX2.5mm angle to the overall length of your skids (include the curve).
The 50mmX5mm flat bar between the angles needs to be cut so when these 3 components are assembled flat on the bench as in the photos, the correct distance to the bottom of the V's equals the skid width (240mm for a Raptor and Gohbee 30/50). Tack weld together and trial sit the heli in the V's and mark where to weld the 6mm rod that go across the angles to retain the heli. These will rest against the gear leg.
For the smaller skid diameters like the Raptors this can be straight and just rest it across the top of the angle. The Fury's will need to be bent to allow the front of the skid to slip under and not have to lift the tail so high when putting the heli in.
The pivot was fitted to MK2 as the original "Racks" didn't pivot and lacked the ability to access the other side of the machine easily. Just replace the 20mmX20mm square tube in the bottom of the first photo with the following.
I used 32NB medium wall, water pipe which slips over 25NB or use 20mm rod, it will fit inside 20NB pipe. Whatever is handy. Make them as high as you need to suit the bench level.
The base plate on mine is 75mmX75mmX5mm flat bar and drill to suit. The friction bolt is 6mm with a 6mm rod T welded to the head. The matching nut is welded over a hole in the outer pipe.
4 x 6mm bolts attach it to the bench top.
Slap on some paint so it looks like someone owns it and away you go.
Any questions drop me a note and you can see them in action in my gallery. Cheers Chook
