I have had my razor out this weekend and think it is in need of some more go.

So i am going to stick a 90 in it and lengthen the boom a bit.

I shall post some pics as she comes along.

The gear ratio will be easy to change as MA have a wide variety of pulleys and pinions available for the razor. The razor nitro and razor electric share the same pully system.

Charlie, Gearing will be a "guess" based upon my experiance with the E razor, which is plenty!

i will be aiming for about 2200 on the head with the motor turning around 14800rpm

You know I was thinking that MA needed another 90 heli kit.

Looking forward to hearing how this works out!

I am always agreeing with that opinion mate... just needs that little more ummfff !! haha

Nah mate it'll be interesting to see how it compares, Pete apparently made a little mod for his gear ratio (something along those lines) etc.. trying to obliterate that extra load up. I gather you know what I mean aye, he said it worked a bit better to.

Time will tell

What are you referring to, drivetrain drag?

I'd not noticed any bogging in the model that Bobby Watts has flown for close to a year when we were at the Jamboree.

I have seen Bobby fly his Razor also and looked pretty strong to me. I don’t think the head speed could have dropped more then 100 rpm the whole flight.
So if you are having a power problem your might want to check your setup or if you extreme throws maybe work on collective management.

Bobby has got some miracle magic on his machine... trying to tune this Razor N is very difficult. It's just so quiet, we ended up leaning it right out and yet still bogging etc.. We were actually screwing it the wrong way, it needed to be richened right up The glow plug was fried after a couple of flights.

We had Dan G's razor N out yesterday, still bogged it same postions... but seemed to gradually lean out as the flight progressed. Hard to pick when the HS was still high, I just can't explain it. haha, it's still I nice heli to fly, sooo bloody smooth!

Sorry to hear about the project being on hold, I think it still has great potential.

On the other hand, I love my Ion and soon it will be an X2. Look in the electrics forum. I am gonna be posting about it there alot.
