I am stationed in South Korea with the U.S. Military. I am looking for a place where I can either order fuel online that will ship overseas, or if anyone knows where I could get it in-country?

Any help will be appreciated since to fly the Heli I've ordered I need the fuel to fly it.

Thanks in Advance,
Ben

I was stationed there 2 years ago and Pyongtek has a hobby shop and so does osan. I was at Humphreys and did a little flying but not much we even found a club. Best thing to do is buy in bulk, buying stuff from there sucks because it all seems to be used lol

Hey G'day.. I'm in Seoul, and there are heaps of online shops that you get get heli fuel from..but you got to be able to read korean. There's a great place in Yongsan, which is the best. Here is their website.. they are really friendly, and some of the staff speak english. http://www.buyrc.co.kr.
Let me know if you need any other websites for Korea.

Check out this site - if you go to Shop and Circuit it has a pretty long list of rc shops in korea. I've heard that a place called psyhobby in yangjae (southern part of seoul) is pretty good as well but never been there... take a look, i'm sure there's raptor stuff somewhere. but yongsan rc is great for hirobo, and free help. http://www.korearc.co.kr/

Hi Benjamen,
I am also stationed in at the ROK Yeah, fuel is a scarcity around these parts....it sucks cuz you have fuel everywhere in the states, but they won't ship it here. Anyways, the best fuel here is Rapicon fuel. It's actually cleaner than what we are used to. It smells really soapy when you burn it though. But, it's actually better for your engine in this type of enviornment. They have a site, but you can't buy directly from the site. I am at Kunsan, but I would imagine that you are at Osan right? I haven't seen a single heli pilot here that flys helis. I always get the ones that say the fly, but their "stuff's in the states" Yeah, whatever... There is a hobby shop in Songtan some where, but the problem is nobody knows the name of it and the Taxi cab drivers have no idea what the hell you are talkin about. So, here's the deal. Go to Yongsan. There is a hobby shop there called Yongsan RC. If you take the bus from Osan you can be there in less than 2 hours. The taxi drivers deal with the Army alot there so they have to understand a little bit of english. I am gonna try to find it this weekend since I will be on leave for a few weeks...Go to YongsanRC.cO.kr for directions. If you can find good directions there, go to the CAC and as one of the Koreans to Goggle it on one of their sites. That's how I did it. It's in Hongul though. lol....I'll let you know what I find out when I venture up your way. There are several good shops that sell helis and spares, but nobody that speaks english can read the names of the shops to find them.
Good luck let me know if you find out something first!!!

hmm well have you ever been to the electronics market? this would be much easier to explain if you had an instant messenger such as AIM or yahoo lol..... but anyway you can take the subway. line 4 I think it is... the bright blue line. Take it to Sinyoungsan station (stop 438 i think)and get out on exit 5. as you come out you will walk strait for awhile. you will go under the railroad tracks through a tunnel. keep walking till you get to the end of the white computer parts building and you come to the road. turn right and you will come to an intersection. cross the street and keep walking forward. you will pass KB (Korea bank). at this time you should be able to look up and see a sign with RC cars on it. the door will be to your right and you will have to go upstairs to it.

OH and another good thing about YongsanRC is that the owner speaks English.

I'm landing in Osan starting in Oct. I really hope to find some people who have this fuel issue worked out. Also, wouldn't mind flying with some other people no matter the skill level just because flying alone is kind of boring. Will be more than happy to help get newbs up and going for buddy boxing or just plain boring holes in the sky

My shipment includes my N9,TREX600E,and of course fly it anywhere 450SE. Managed a half gallon of 30% coolpower to at least hold me over till I find that fuel store. Sorry Ladymagic it's looking like a big no-go for bringing fuel. Please let me know if there is anything you need from ready heli at anytime and I will bring it. I'm simply crushed too because I really wanted to keep the N9 on the same fuel. Plus it was running like a skinned cat with Coolpower

Hopefully my whole shipment doesnt burn up from the little bit of nitro I did ship. It was inside a thunder tiger starting kit, and I had some reservations about it.

WOW I'm ashamed of you guys lol..... there are TONS of places to get fuel here. I am in Suwon..... Osan is closer to me than Yongsan even though my company is located in Yongsan. I got sung by a bee the other night and had to be taken to the hospital in Osan (guess I'm allergic to them.... who would have known lol). Anyway Im stuck here flying alone and it is driving me insane. I am a total noob at flying and would love to fly with someone.

John Cho is the Miniature Aircraft and Cosmo Fuel importer in Korea. He speaks excellent english and will ship out fuel to you anywhere in Korea.

I've been here about 18 years. Been flying my helicopters most of that time. I didn't start flying until I came to Korea.

John also can provide information on funfly's etc. Bobby Watts and Nigel (forget the last name, from Australia) were here a few months back. Jason Krause was either just here or will be in the near future.....There is lot's going on.

PM or email me for his contact info if interested.

Osan Air Base

You should see a triangular building in the middle of this map that is the USA Hobby Shop. Top right you can see the main gate of Osan AB.

Here is where I fly, scroll out a bit and you'll see Osan AB come up on the left top of the map. (you'll see the airfield).
