Tic tocs, tic tocs tic tocs...
Got to love tic tocs
Tail down, Side on, Nose down etc...
All fun fun.
But how come the good guys can keep them stationary in the wind?
How does on counteract the wind and tic toc sideways...
Diagonal tic tocs can fight the wind, how for instance, how can you stay in one place tail down in wind?

Really stuck on this one guys :S

Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Best regards

In a no wind situation, tail down. If you move the nose of the heli slightly left, the heli will move left. If you move the nose to the right it will move right.

So, if the wind is blowing from your right to your left and the tail is down...Then turn the nose slightly into the wind (right) and the heli will stay in place. All you are doing is adding enough right to counter the wind pushing the heli left.

For aileron tic tocs, if the heli is facing right, tail left. Putting the nose down will make it go forward, and the nose up will make it go backwards.

Hope that helps...there might be another way to do it, but this works for me.

As well as pointing the nose (if nose up) towards the direction you wish to travel, you can also do it by keeping the nose upright (looks better) and biasing the cyclic a bit. ie, with blades facing you nose up, if you wish to travel right, then the cyclic will be moving between 1 oclock and 7 oclock. If you wanted to travel left , then move the stick between 11 and 5 oclock.

That's an awesome tip Yug, I can't wait to try that one tomorrow! I too have struggled with making tic tocs more in control.

Aye yug,
i suspected it was something like that... i guess i need to work at it some more
I was just getting rather frustrated with it last night haha.

A note on the tail orientation, i have found when doing side on tic tocs the heli will follow the tail if its lower than the nose and via versa.
This might be due to the fact that the cyclic runs from left to right and the *pivot* is effectively down the center line of the heli, which kind of explains it thinking about it lol.

Hmmm, all very interesting people
