Hi

I am just building up one of the predator carbon gasser se nx and was trying to find out if the above part goes into the fuel tank as the clunk or on the breather pipe.

Also I am having some problems getting the clutch and bell lined up without any rubbing when pulling the starter cord.
In the instructions it says should be able to pull the cord slowly without clutch bell moving but mine grips every so often ant one out there any solutions before I start the engine.

cheers

steve

If you pull the starter cord slowly and the clutch grabs and then doesn't grab then the clutch is not running true to the crank. I am sorry to say it means removing the engine or at least the upper frame section and getting it to run true. You are on your own for dialing in the clutch because the methods vary. Do a search on dialing in the clutch and you will get an ear full. Pick the method you like and go for it.

BTW if you spin the clutch bell with out turning the engine crank and it does the same thing then the bell is not running true. This can be a real serious problem. A slight scuff on a new bell should be expected but it can't grab to where it tries to turn the engine.

good luck.

stephen:

The Stens clunk goes inside the tank so the fuel is filtered as it's drawn up into the engine.

As for the clutch grabbing, this is a well-known problem for the Century gassers and the heavy duty clutches. I have described the problem in the following post. I would you suggest you look carefully at your clutchbell as you rotate it slowly. Check it out at:
