I modified one of my Honey Bee FP helis by replacing the stock Esky motor with the Slo-Max 300 high performance brushed motor using a 10T pinion. I also replaced the stock Esky main rotor blades with the Kyosho M24 blades. The stock skids were also replaced with Super Skids. The Slo-Max 300 combined with the M24 blades really increases the headspeed. The M24 blades also have very little pitch, which greatly reduces ballooning/pitching up of the heli. Transitional lift is also greatly reduced. The M24s are also 1/2 in. shorter than the stock blades. All other parts of the heli including the tail motor and the 4-in1 (receiver, esc, mixer, rate gyro) are stock.

The only drawback to this setup is that the stock tail motor just can't keep up with the Slo-Max 300 at times. The Slo-Max will tend to overpower the stock tail motor. This results with the tail tending to lag a little; however, this is very manageable, though. A solution would be to install a direct drive tail motor, which I may do in the future. In the mean time, I'm having a good time throwing around this modified HBFP. Below is a video of one of my flights from last evening. Excuse the rough landing...no damage done.
