go back to desktop display properties

from the "desktop" tab chose NONE for background...to kill those cute clouds you have there and on the right chose black if you want an easy color on the eyes.

If all you want to do is get rid of the shadows, go to "Control Panel", select "Performance and Maintenance", then select "Adjust Visual Effects" and you'll get a list of check box options. Scroll down the list to near the bottom to "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" deselect it to turn the shadows options OFF.

This way i just change the backg round color to match the shadow colore, that`s not what i want, i want to use an image as background.

I have all ready tried this with mo effect, the "shadows" still appers.

This drives me mad, tough i don`t use much time to look at my background desktop pic.. lol

since you want a background...what he said works...but it must be saved with a checkmark as in enabled and not off.

different route

windows key and pause break brings up system properties

go to advanced tab

performance "settings"

visual effects "custom"

the only one i have checked is that one..."Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" and it works with any background.
