What does it mean to be a veteran here? Does it mean that you know your stuff or you just post a lot? The reason for my question is that I’ve seen a lot of veteran asking beginner question or they may say I just did my first loop today. It seem like if you are an heliman just like myself no one listen to what you have to say, why is that?

Or you post at work and fly afterwards..

Some of us have more free time at work for sure hehe But yes rank on these boards only means you post alot doesnt mean you know alot. There are Top dogs in the rankings on here that have never posted anything but rubbish in off-topics or political crap. That being said there are also enough well rounded people that as a collective you can find the right answer to your question or the one that suits you best.

Along the same lines there are enough unique experiences that everyone gets their own opinion and their own experience.. Everyones experience with the same scenario will be a little different.

There is also "Expert Heliman", anyone with that tag got it not by posting but by being a true expert.

Curtis is the only "expert heliman" account I think

high rankers = a lot of talking and not a lot of doing.

It also depends on how long you've been using this site......i suppose you could get to veteran fairly easily if you'd been posting for 5 years or so (not sure how long its been up and running).

I've been posting for 18 months and done 186 posts.....if i carry on at this rate i'll easily be Veteran in another couple of years. Doh!

Smoke me a kipper, i'll be back for breakfast

also if your posting alot your browsing alot, like i have learned alot of things that would never do me any good, but i tell others who may need the advice.the only people who dont deserve there ranks are the few who post only in off topics(you know who im talking about)

The whole ranking thing offers no factual insight as to the posters experience or abilities. It serves no purpose other than to create undue controversy.

This thread however, did get me one post closer to veteran.

Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.

Easier to get veteran status in countries like Sweden or the UK where it rains all the time so we have to spend our time inside reading RR instead of out flying... DOH!

I asked a TON of newbie questions, then I try to post answers on the things I'm pretty sure I understand.

Just because you post a lot, does not mean you know a lot

This is a bit of a social club though. Some people ask good questions, which go unanswered. Others post about what they ate for breakfast, and it starts a 4 page thread.

I bet heavy posters have jobs (or retired?) where they sit at a desk all day. Lots of time to check in to RR and make a quick post. It adds up.
