Well....

My XL Pro is now ready to fly. I still have to test and tune the engine, but so far I've been able to start the old OS61 motor. Can't wait to test her out at the field. I'll replace the motor to a 90 size eventually, but it would be good to know if the mechanics is sound.

Reviving this bird is so interesting. Quite a bit of a difference from my Raptor 50.

Anyway, here she is... and I guess I'll be in the MA forum more often.

Here you go thtoyman.... hope it helps. let me know if you got other questions.

I guess some of the noteworthy adjustments I made would be the tail servo bellcrank; I moved it to the back of the frame and used 2 carbon fiber pushrods. I also changed the tail pitch plate to the fury yoke one (but I think the tail is mostly fury parts). For the canopy, I used the old mounts and relocated them to the electronics tray and drilled out 2 areas where the rear of the canopy can be mounted. Lastly, I'm using a dubro 16 oz fuel tank for now since I have the MA tank on order, but, I may just keep it so I don't have to make anymore mods to the canopy... and oh yeah, I had to chop up the canopy for the SB 16 pipe.

Looking at it, it should have about the same power to weight performance as a 50, but on the plus side, should be bigger in the sky, more stable (wind), and have a much better control response. I had pros in the past and they are very nice helicopters.

I'm sorta thinking the same with regards to the p-w ratio... I'll see tomorrow.

.

I did not do anything to the mount. It is an os 61 motor and it already was mounted properly when I got it.

What kind of motor?

You can also loosen up the bearing block for the pinion/clutch bell and see if it can help you line up the motor.

Have you tried loosening up the bearing block? I think it's slotted and can move..
