I just got it yesterday and built it. Throughout the build progress, there are some pros and cons based on my rc helicopter experience. And I haven't testflown it though so I can't give my opinion about the performance.

Pros:

- Very well machined
- Simple assembly
- New blade grip and mixing arm geometry
- Fully pre-installed bearings and the head has thrust bearings also.
- Programmable blade grips
- No manual
- Very beautiful
- Acceptable price

Cons:

- Linkage balls tightly fit in the stock ball links
- Stock mainshafts tightly fit in the head housing
- KASAMA doesn't produce the rest of the head like washout, washplate.

And here are some pics...

I only wish they made it with a full flybar cage, I don't like their way as much.

I agree. I will probably get a Gforce flybar cage.

Why if I may ask?
The reason you don't trust it or think it's not good like this interests me.
To give my technical opinion...
This design works perfectly, it's light and it has a very low drag-factor.
They are very stiff and once fastened they have no play at all.
The maingoal of the arms is to turn the flybar (relatively low forces on the link connections).
The flybar is fitted in the sturdy seesawhub and turns on two ball bearings 40 mm apart.
The arms grip the flybar right next to the bearings and this is ideal.
It's a bit harder to install them, but i'm really satisfied with the way they work.
I personally think that the Gforce flybar is a bit heavy, draggy and ugly.
Not in balance with this nice designed head.

Eric

its stiffer, easier to setup, servive crashes crashes better (maybe), have the larger t-rex balls.

The rest of the head I will use. But as for the flaybar cage I think I will get the Gforce. The Kasama flaybar maybe fine but its just an opinion. Please keep us updated.

Already flew it!

Just ran 5 packs though the mini titan with the new kasama head, man I have to say it is definitely worth more than 146 bucks that I had to pay for the head. Tracking is cured completely, even with woodies over 3000 HP. Everything is more precise and faster. Man... I loved it already and love it more right now. My Trex is standing in my car's trunk right now!

How tight should I get the screw that holds the seesaw to the centre hub?

If I tighten down, the seesaw doesn't move smoothly. If I undo the screw until the seesaw is smooth, the screw seems to be abit loose?

Orientation

ngkimlong,

Thanks for the pics! Helps speed up the build. Nothing else on the net that I could find.

Just got mine. Can't wait to get it in the air.

Just a quick note for those using this as a guide to build. You want to watch the orientation of the main blade grips as you locktite the spindle. The grip arms line up with the short end of the mixers not the long end. No I didn't... was using orig head as a guide but double checked against these pics in case Kasama did a different geometry. Turned out not in final pics of the build. Let's hope that is the case in flight!

Note to Kasama - please do some build pics at least for your awesome products! I tried calling him last week. Well let's just say that he suggested email as a future communication vehicle. Very patient guy but in the end pointed me to email.

Geoff.

Closer than youthink

My Posts: All  Forum  Topic

I've had a couple of minor but workable issues with my Kasama head.

First one, The seasaw hits the top of the mainshaft limiting its total movement. Easy fix. I shortened the length of the shaft about 2-3mm.

Second one, if I tighten the screws that the seasaw pivots on, it binds up on the flanges of the bearings. It seems the inner race is flush with the bearings outer flange. So I locktited them good and backed them off a touch.

Any other Kasama E325 head owners experiencing these problems?
