Question - how will a 2200mAh 12C LiPo perform on a T-Rex 450 (stock set-up)?

No 3D yet, just FF.

I need to get some extra packs for this weekend, and this is all the LHS has in stock.

I suspect that you will cook a 12C battery.

Probably the minimum that you will want to use is 15-16C.

Would it actually damage the battery or would it just not provide enough power?

If it over discharges it then the battery will be shot

I've LVC set on the ESC - so it shouldn't over discharge it, unless I'm missing something?

12c or 15c is your discharge RATE

"If it over discharges it then the battery will be shot"...
How would/could this happen?
I thought the low voltage cut-off would prevent the battery from being over discharged?

12C @ 2200 = ~26amps
15C @ 2200 = ~33amps

Wouldn't running a lower C rating just provide less power as it wouldn't be pulling as much amps? and possibly provide longer flight times?

The battery doesn't determine your current draw. Your motor and ESC will determine current draw its up to the battery to keep up.

But, hey they are your batteries, let us know how you make out.

Actually I haven't purchased those 12C packs yet - I wanted to make sure they'd work with my set-up first... thus, my annoying questions!

I've got the Align 430LF 3550 motor (Max Continuous current: 28A) paired with the Align 35A ESC BL35x... does this mean the most amps it could draw would be 28A?

What would happen if the motor/esc demanded more amps than what was available? Would it simply bog down, or would it damage the battery somehow?

Most likely, C) All of the above . . . . it would pull excess current, which would overheat the battery, and at the same time, since the battery was being overdrawn, voltage would drop, and performance would suffer . . . .
