I had my first flight yesterday with the training gear off. Wow what a rush. I have had to put my flying on hold for a month or so due to moving and other things so I am still in the tail in hover stage. I only flew for about a half pack because I was so nervous. What a difference without the extra weight.

Congratulations! That is a huge step forward in the learning curve! If you are like me, you will only put the training gear back on when you are ready to learn nose-in...

Hopefully, you are also flying outside so you have lots of room. Outside, you can fly a little higher and be able to hit more throttle if/when you get into trouble.

Well done on your progress - keep going!

Yeah, I am going to put them back on for nose in. I do fly mostly outside now. I still hover in the living room a little just to keep me on my toes. I am taking it real slow though. I purchased my CP in Febuary and have only had three crashes. Two were inside and I let it get too close to the wall, and the third was when I tried idle up (Airtronics radio) and the setting for the gyro was off on idle up and spun out of control and could not recover in time. I know crashing is part of the game but with two kids and a wife in gradschool I need to keep the cost as little as I can.
