Well I have one of the famous Align 2100/22C puffer packs. I purchased this pack new about 4 months ago. My LHS gave me Assurance's phone number to deal with this issue. The pack acted up about a month ago but I have been working long days and did not have time to deal with it. When I called Assurance I was told that their warranty is for 90 days only. They offered no help, nothing!
Needless to say, I will not buy another battery from them. I will buy Align parts to keep my two 450 Trexs flying but, I will not be buying anymore Align helis to add to my fleet. I will not suppport poor customer service with my money!
As a side note, I had a new Thunder Power 2100 Gen II pack bad even before I used it. Called Thunder Power and they informed me that the battery was old but they at least gave me a 50% credit towards a 2100 ProLite battery. So this is two bad batteries out of five packs. Not good odds if you ask me. At this rate I will not be moving up to larger LI-PO packs and will not be giving up my nitro helis anytime soon.
Btw, what are the current brands of LI-POs with the best reliablity track record and best customer service?

yep, join the club.
Those people will never call you back if you send them anything.
They have my blown motor and esc and not a word whether i can pick up my stuff or anything.
They don't understand the term costumer service - only making money.
If you want service should have bought Hirobo from MRC.

Fred, is the club giving out membership cards? Btw, I do own a EVO 30, in fact I own many other brands. So I do not feel locked in to poor customer service!
Johnny, thanks for the reply. I may just buy one to check them out. It appears though that the battery is too big to fit my MX400 or 450 XL HDE. Should fit my 450SA though. And a couple of planes I own.

I contacted Assurance (Frank) about the puffing align 22C lipos- he said they'd send new ones (great ), if I had a receipt. Of course, I don't so I guess I'm out my $. He gave me some story about moisture in the packing or tape within the pack causeing the puffing. Hmmm, funny, but I am not sure I buy that. Anyhow, the packs have been sitting on my bench unused for three weeks, and are puffing worse all the time. Temperatures in the work area are air-conditioned to about 78degF, so they are not too hot in storage.

Align really isn't doing themselves any favors here. Are you listening, Align?

Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

helimatt, the attitude the Assurance rep gave me was 90 days or less or end of story, period. No, I did not ask for his name. My money and I only care about the name of the company the rep works for. I do not feel the need to have a second job being a HR person for the companies I buy from or to manage their business. Boys just want to have fun.

hey
I have a T-rex XL HDE....it defiantly is a little Susy." but I have made due because of what the pack offers...no puffing and very good power let alone they are cheaper and their customer service is outstanding!

I highly recommend the company and their products... shoot them an e-mail... they'll take care of you.

Thanks

I'm surprised not more of the Align/Assurance fanbois have chimed in here yet... these threads are typically overrun with stories of how Assurance did this and that for them...

For me, I've still got two hybrid swashplates from over two years ago that separated before I even got them out of the packaging... The response I got was that I had to take it up with retailer.

Nope. Their customer service is truely pathetic. The worst I have experienced in the 3 years I've been flying helis. I sold both of my 600n's and will not buy another Align heli.

Has anyone considered proper set up at fault here?
Thunder Power has great customer service and has exchanged faulty items to me for free no questions or paperwork. Align, I cannot comment on other than they are really big and they probably get way too many nusence complaints among the ones that are valid and are still one of the best prcied, best flying machines. But seriously I dont care for their electronics or blades. .02

Don't see how align could hide behind that as most people are using the motor and esc that came with the bird. Mine puffed after 10 flights was told I could return and pay 50% + shipping toward a new pack. So I'd have to pay like $45 bucks to get another sh_tty pack?!?! Rather put that money toward a good quality pack. Sad thing is that I've been pretty happy with 2 of the Align 16C packs I have.

Back-to-back flights on same setup, same heli, with the Align 22C, TP Prolite (15C), Kokam 15C, and Enerland 20C packs- only the Align pack puffed, after proper conditioning, and they are the newest packs.

Two Align packs, both puffed in approximately equal number of flights. They are defective, or rated incorrectly, no question about it. Generally the quality of Align hardware has been good on my end, but I've had poor results from their electronics and now these lipos.

well, they should make it right and have a mass recall, if they want to keep customer loyalty. There are other options out there, and some are very good products indeed. Again, ALIGN, ARE YOU LISTENING?

Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

You guys made some good points.
This reminds me of the Align 6s2p 4400's that were released when the T-rex 600 first came out. All 4 of mine puffed badly. Maybe partially my fault, but this was supposed to be the battery for the factory supplied set up. When it comes to Li-po's my favorite as of now is Flightpower. With Thunder Power coming in second of course. They are more expensive, but I think you are also paying for the great customer servie too. "90 day period" warrenty is kind of lame, especially since sometimes you dont even use the stuff for a few weeks anyways.

Gary, both 600Ns are gone already? Man, I got to get out to the field and see what else has been going down! What's the new heli? Or are you saving your pennys for when the Vibe 50 is released?

All I can add guys is the other three Li-Pos are a TP Gen II 2100, a TP ProLite 2100, and a Align 16C 2100, and they are still performing well.

Some of Align's parts are not great, batteries and a few other components are common for the list of early replacements. But as far as Assurance is concerned, I had a pretty poor experience with them as well. So now I buy all those parts from Heliproz because they have super quick turnaround for warrantees. My ordeal with Assurance took one whole month. Im sorry, thats just not acceptable when anywhere in the US is just 2-3 days away.

Add me to the Align puffer pack club. My Align 2100/22C pack puffed after about 15 flights.

Mine puffed after the 20th flight. I have a TP 2100 running on same setup. No problems so far after 27 flights.

Mine was out performing my 3 TP extremes and I thought it was the best lipo around always balanced and looked after well via my TP 1010 and TP 210V balancer.

Then after around 20 flights one day the power seemed to die off , when I landed it was puffed really bad , and has since stayed puffed.

It still works but after around 3-4 minutes in idle up I land as I know its going to be well puffed and just dont trust it any more !!!!

Man I am really sorry to hear your losses. Even my 15c TP prolite cells never puffed with the Medusa 28-32-3400, 13t pinion. After at least 100 flights. They would get quite hot but never puffed.
These new FP Evo 25 2170's are kickin butt!
