wwellman rrApprentice Marlborough, Ma. | I'm sure some of us doing AP sent a letter to the Omnibudsman protesting the FAA heavy handed treatment of those of us doing AP. Here is their response to MY letter which I sent on May 17,2007 and finally got a written response today.http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...Photography.pdfWalter

Graeme rrApprentice Jeffersonville, IN, USA | Sounds like the typical "we haven't made any decisions yet so we're not gonna answer your concerns" side-step.At least they said that your remarks will be added to, (and hopefully considered with), all the other comments on the proposed FAA action.Department of the Transportation

airmobile rrApprentice Santa Clarita, Calif. | Be glad that this is not an election year, otherwise they may not even consider a decision until the new administration takes office.Meanwhile, no comments will be forthcoming, until such time that Homeland Security deems further comments necessary. If you oppose this decision, a representative of Homeland Security will be visiting you to discuss your opinions.

![]() rrNovice Georgetown, Kentucky | I hate dealing with the Federal Government. I really don't see how they get anything accomplished with all of the red tape they have to go through. Rest assured their non-sensical decision-making process will likely put a lot of guys out of business. And IF they decide to allow AP to continue can you imagine the red tape one will have to endure and the fees that you will have to pay to receive permission from the almighty FAA.![]()

FCM rrElite Veteran Surrey, England | So sit back and get stung I suppose?I can see why people want to do something about this. Joking aside, being passive has it's place of course but look where doing that has left the AP/AV industry in the US now? The problem is you have a federal body, a powerful one at that (is there any other sort?) that has made a decision that has effected this industry because they don't have any regulations for it. This is their oversight and their problem and they have gone and made it everybody elses in the US until they get around to thinking about getting some suitable regulations written up which should take these dedicated proffessionals all of a couple of weeks to do IF they could be bothered. It is not a difficult thing to do as is crippling an industry which is what they have done as of spring this year.Well done I say - support your local aviation businesses![]()

nocontrol1 rrApprentice Melbourne, FL, USA | Actually, if you read the 2nd paragraph carefully they're speaking about the nature of the FAA policy of Feb 07. It really is sort of interesting.
