Hi All

Just to let you know the Vario Fly-in is still on for this weekend. I had a meeting with the farmer yesterday and the recent outbreak of foot & mouth will not be stopping us using the field.

Also, for the people who attended last year, it will not be the same site as last year. We will be in the next field at the bottom of the hill...there will be signs as normal.

Let's hope for better weather than last year!! couldn't be any worse

Hi Dave

I plan to be there all weekend, are we still OK for camping on Saturday night?

I'm bringing the Chinook complete now in it's fuse but don't expect any aerobatics.

Anybody else staying over Saturday night?

Rich

Hi Dave
Yes, thanks to you and John for a great weekend. Sorry I messed up with the MIL, and I'm sure there is going to be a world shortage of large Bell 47's. Got to get my order in quick. Lot's of top models-dare I say the very cream of the crop-and some top pilots too. Only two mishaps that I saw, so a very succesful weekend for everybody really. Well done to all.
See you soon
Denis

I'll get some up soon. Didn't take too many myself, was too busy flying and talking. My mate used my camera so I'll see if he has taken some worth posting.
Cheers

Thanks guys

Thanks to everyone that turned up. It was a great turn out with some fantastic models.

Sorry about the lack of a food wagon, I was let down on the day. Hopefully this will not happen next year

My 1/4 scale Bell 47G is now in pieces and will be in the paint shop by the weekend

I haven't got many photos, like Denis I was to busy flying. This one was taken early on Saturday morning.

Great weekend Dave, well done, thanks to John and especially Sharon for doing the sometimes difficult transmiter control.

I'm looking forward to next years event already, hope the weather is just as good.

The Chinook's in pieces preparing for an engine upgrade and somemore Hp that will hopefully cure the flight problems I had.

I took a lot of photos on the Saturday only to find later that I'd left the camera memory card at home so if anybody has any shots of my Chinook actually in the air I'd like to see them.

Last year this event enjoyed hurricane force winds and torrential rain. This year the Saturday was virtually flat calm, sunny and a roasting 75 degrees. Rain was forecast for Sunday, but never arrived, but the wind picked up and got quite strong by late afternoon.

As I write this, the wind is upto 50mph gusts and the rain is lashing down, and people ask why I dont want to come here for an English summer

An excellent weekend, spoiled only by some toe rag stealing the burger van so we had no food. How low can you get
