What tail servo, motor/battery/pinion? In the tic-toc the headspeed can drop and the tail may not hold well in that condition. Its a common problem if you start pushing the heli hard with those types of high-collective and collective-reversing manuevers.

Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

Be sure to use the double sided tape supplied and no strapping over the gyro. Excess vibration will mess things up. Also too, equalize the temprature of your equipment when going to fly. Temprature seems to disturb the gyro function. Shade to sun, A/C to outside temp etc.
Only takes a couple minutes.

I found that the 2100T gyro did not perform very well with an analog servo- went to digital and it works very solidly. I flew a Futaba S3154 and it worked well, using an Airtronics 94761Z now, and it works well too, but oddly not quite as well as that small Futaba did. I may switch back. A 9650 or the newer futaba tail servo, or a JR would serve well too.

Like Tom said, make sure you are as vibration free as possible, and you might try getting the HS up higher with a 13T pinion but I doubt it will help much. In the end, I don't think you'll get really good holding with this gyro without going to a digital tail servo.

Same Topic, new question

Ok, I've had this belt for a really long time, today after a rebuild wringout my tail slips. I presently have the belt pretty tight and during some full pull pitch pumps the belt burps. Question: Is the belt stretched beyond use and or the teeth worn in too much. Hard too explain but if I lock the main gear and twist the tail hub it will slip under what seems like extreme tortion, I'm turning 3150 static on gov just like before, got the LTG2100 gyro locked in on rate mode but have a bounce after a left piro and cant figure it out.

Matt, How do you reset the limits in the 2100? I mean how do you erase the priviously calibrated limits?

Tom, I don't know if you can "erase" the settings, but just change them to new settings. I haven't touched my 2100 settings for a while, so I'm a bit rusty.

Are you sure the tail pulley isn't slipping? Yes, the belt teeth will wear eventually. Might as well put in a new one- I recommend the Gates belt its been serving me very well, but I am noticing some wear so I plan to replace it.

That bounce- It got worse when I began flying the Airtronics digital servo on the tail (forget the number- 94761Z I think), was better with the little Futaba 3154 digital and I might switch back. It was almost non-existent with the Futaba, but pretty pronounced with the Airtronics servo. I also had to turn the gain down to avoid wag.

Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

Well the Gates is on the way. Resistance was futile.
The thing is, Seems all the difficulties arose after this last crash, I even changed out the tail shaft! I've heard the belt burp when the tention was wrong, anyway. I've got some corrosion going on, thats a bit deeper than rust! Where do you have your rotate rate set? Did you leave your atv's at max after the initial setup?

i had a same issue that the tail bounce went was using 3154, but burn out, due to the output BEC is 6V and 3154 cant handle it, tat why i change to HS81, now actually i think Logictech cant really perform tat well compare to GY401 wif 9650.
