Did you get the Hobbico one? The instructions say to use CA with activator.

Since the field box is wooden, I used carpenter's glue and finishing nails. It worked perfectly.

It its wood, then epoxy, carpenters glue, CA will all work. The CA will just work faster! Be sure to keep your fingers clear because CA bonds skin even faster than wood!

I would use wood glue. The regular glue from the hardware store, like Titebond, works just fine and sets up pretty quickly in my experience. Glue a little, let it dry for a few hours, glue a little more, let it dry over night. Working like that will eventually produce a pretty nice field box. CA is tough to sand once it dries and especially difficult if you've used kicker/activator to speed things up.

I guess it would, but I imagine that it would be tough to work with. I would only consider using it if I could mix it and get the stuff in a syringe to help pinpoint where it went. Then, you have to continually mix a new batch as the current batch cures. Clamping/taping everything would be a pain if you also had to consider glue working-time IMHO.

With Titebond you wet both surfaces to be joined. It soaks in a little and when the joint is dry it will be very strong. Also wipe off the excess that squeezes out with a damp cloth. You will get a better finish than when using epoxy.

Get the Blue label bottle as it is waterproof to a certain degree.

The wood you are joining will have to be plain with no finish on it. Once you have stuck the box together you can then varnish or paint it.

I went with the titebond III, and after I put them together I put on thick CA. So far so good.
