I am flying a V2 trex, it has stock v2 motor and controler, I am using the 22c align battery. It is no good anymore, I am interested in the latest and greatest, I have not been watching the forums lately and do not know the currrent batch of batteries. I am assuming the Evo's are still top notch? what C are we up to these days? thanks

Chad

Just got two of the AirThunder's (2200/25c) today. They are pretty good size though. I would guess they are 1/3 larger (thickness) than the Align battery. 2 cells of the AirThunder are about the same size as the 3 cells in the Align battery. On the up side, I've read nothing but good things about them. And they shipped then quick, and packed them well.

It's sad that after only 3 (three) flights, the battery (2100/22c) that came with the 450 SE V2 puffed. That's no surprise. What really gets me is Align won't even respond to my inquiry about puffing it, which I half way expected anyway. They have some REAL problems with that battery.

They weigh 190 grams and measure 35mm X 30mm X 107mm. As far as fit, the perfectly fit the 450 SE V2 with no issues. I am using the upper battery tray in the front.

They have a great deal on them now. I think I got the 2 for about $125 with free shipping. I ordered them Sunday, and they arrived today. Iowa to Florida.

At the risk of being told that I am insane or wrong, I will say that I have over 220 flights on my V2 with the Tp Prolite batteries (15c) I fly 5 min and put in 1300 mah. batteries hit 130F and it is 100F outside. I do moderate 3d and have plenty of power. Even after a 5 min flight I can do a hard climb and not load the blades, 11 degrees on the pitch. 12 tooth pinion. The packs are a reasonable price and I charge them at a 3c rate. This may be hard on packs but my batteries are working great.

I am using Airthunder lipos on my Trex 450 and like the a lot. I can fly until they are appear weak and not worry about how low they are. They recharge fine.
I have one bad lipo, and called Mandy at Airthunder. I explained to the battery had one dead cell. She sent me an authorization to mail it back for a refund. That's about as good as it gets.
God luck on your batteries.

I currently have 5 Air Thunder packs with another 4 placed on order yesterday (hopefully will arrive in Sydney sometime next week) that will bring me to a total of 9 packs.

Like so many others here I have tried several different brands in the last 18 months I have been flying the Trex and all of them eventually puff up but the align ones seem to puff the worst of all although I still have one align pack that looks like ballon but still seems to perform ok!

I think the greatest thing about these new Air Thunder cells is that you no longer need to worry about the low voltage limit, just fly as long as you want or as long as it is producing the power you want then land.

The other weekend I gave one of my original Air Thunder packs to fellow Sydney Trex pilot Menace and told him to thrash it to death, and he did! Read what Menace had to say here.

I charge them at a 3c rate
Sticknruddr what charger/balancer are you using at 3C? How many cycles do you have on your Prolites? What are your charge times to return 1300 mAh at 3C?

I charge mine at 1.4C (FMA Cellpro 4s), over 60 cycles on some packs, and recently started trying 2C.

Sorry to hijack your thread crcflyer14, but you will have to charge your fancy new packs anyway

That's one good reason some of us don't use a very heavy battery on a already nose heavy setup. But if you want to move your tail servo back next to the tail fin . But tell me,what are you going to do if you start doing 3D and don't want to use that heavy battery?
Move you tail servo again? Most good batteries are about 160 to 170g. that's a big difference on the nose.YOU could post pictures of your setup and we could look at what you could move. But IMO I would stick with one brand of battery what will do it all down the road.
I like my Tp 2200 extreme batteries a lot. they are about 170g and have a 54A cont / and 108A burst rating! YOu can't bet that.
They will do it all.

**Now doing Forward Flight And EASY 3d! And having a Ball !!**
