I LOVE THE WAY IT FLY'S AT THE MO. I HAVE JUST BOUGHT MYSELF A 600 NITRO PRO, FOR SHOWS SO CAN NOT WAIT. IF I RUN THE RAPTOR ON 30% MAGNUM WILL I RECIEVE MORE POWER?

For starters, please disable the CAPS LOCK on your computer. Typing in all caps is the equivalent of yelling.

There's nothing wrong with the OS32SX, and a Rappy 30 should do aerobatics quite nicely with that engine. Yes, an OS37 would give you more power and an upgrade to the 50-class would do even more in that regard.

However, an important skill in advanced flying is collective management. This is a skill best learned with an under-powered heli (which you have). For starters, try being more gentle with the collective stick (don't bang it to the stops). This will help keep the headspeed up, which will make the heli seem more powerful.

You could try higher nitro fuel, but in my experience the OS32 likes 15%. If you switch it may be several tanks of fuel before the engine starts to behave (engines often need a break-in period when switching fuel types).

don't waste your time on 30 size upgrades, get a 50. Better in every way by a large margin.

A TOKI 40 will give you a zippier machine - and you can stay with the '30 gears and blades. Some folks have had good results with that engine; others have not. It is not the same to setup the needles (nor, it seems, as easy as) an OS.
I'm gonna rebuild mine (broke a connecting rod) and go back to it - flying an OS 32FH now - not grossly powerful, and seems touchy on the main needle setting - hot days vs. nicer weather.

On the other hand, the brute power of a 50 would be nice. One of these days (although it'll take more fuel!)

Hey,
I started on R30's, after a year or so i moved to a 50 and after 3 years I found an old Hawk 30 in the back of the garage i never finished building. Threw in some old radio gear and the old OS32 (think i might put in a toki 40) and its amazing the difference.
I'm just so used to so much more punch, really takes more concentration on the collective to get that thing moving!

But i guess the wooden blades and 1600 doesn't help heh.

I would recommend a hyper and 50 size conversion!

You really wont regret it

And due to the relative size similarities you will be amazed how much difference 5cm can make in the right places

I had issue's with my hawk pro just acting like it was worn out I mean the engine that is it was a OS 32 and so I took it out finally and got a OS 37 and dang it has almost more torgue the tail spins some on spin up if I don't hold it unlike the OS 32 did. I was thinking on getting a TOKI 40 but choose OS because new they were good. I am aslo looking forward now to getting my 90 up and going my god it will probably have so much power it will scare me lol.
