Hello all,
For those who have the feigao brushless tail, I was wondering if there have been any temp problems. I use the standard tail motor mount so the air flow is not blowing across the motor. Has anyone experienced any problems? One more question, will the ESCs detect low battery voltage and shut down? Sorry for the newby questions, but this stuff is not printed anywhere.

I use a Feigao Brushless tail motor and do not have any problems. I did pick up a 12mm heat sync. Most ESC's will turn off when low voltage is detected but you might want to get the manufacture and model and look it up on they're site. Also before the ESC cuts off, you'll notice the tail get untrimmed.

Ok i think that is what I was experiencing. I use the thurderbird 9 ESC and a g90 gyro. It seems that I can't hover for long periods of time without heat getting to the heli. My last flight, the battery got so hot that i had trouble holding it, and the tail was hot but not scorching. Of course, it was about hundred degrees out today. However, I don't think it very long, four maybe five minutes. Rilopez, do you have a Brushless main too?

Yes, I do use both brushless main and tail, and can hold a hover with out loosing the tail. one thing that has happened to me and I noticed right away is that I simply put the tail blade backwards. I hope you are using a heat sync on there, and also pick up some heat transfer grease from Radio Shack. They cell it for computer processors. In my last reply to you I gave you a link to my Blade CP, check it out, you'll see my whole setup. also on full range how are your pios. my blade does more than my eye can see at high rate, either direction.

I use the feigao brushless tail with a Thunderbird 9 ESC.

Temp after 10 minutes of hovering with hard punches (to try to work both the E-flite Park 370 BL and the Feigao BL) is only 104 def F on the feigao motor - quite a bit hotter on the E-flite Park 370.

Confirm that you do not have any binding or imbalance on your tail rotor.

The only time I had a temp problem with this setup was when I had my SS prop adaptor bent from a previous crash.

104 huh? Ok that sounds about right. It gets hot, not scorching hot. I guess I just need more time to get used to the whole brushless thing. The only thing thing really got hot was the battery, that was surprising . So far I am real impressed with the power and stability of it. I do use a heat sink. It is one of those black ones from the GWS DD tail set up. I suppose it works, nothing has caught fire yet. I just checked for any binding, seems good. Alrighty, off for another flight.
