well i went to fly today and tried to find a nice way to operate the rev max on normal and st1, st2 and finnally i got it.
well you start with the standart calibration as discribe on MA site with AUX2.
the you swich the AUX2 to inh.
this is for the normal mode
using Pmix1
aux2->aux2
rate:-> +68
0
sw:f-NR
offset: 0

this is for ST1 - when you flip to ST1 this controll the RPM
PMIX2
AUX2->AUX2
RATE -> +76
0
SW:F-S12
offset:0

this is for the ST2
PMIX3
AUX2->AUX2
RATE -> +13
0
SW:F-S2
offset:0

i get 1650 at normal
1900 at ST1
2100 at ST2.

try it youll see.
good kuck

i just got my DX7 today, and was trying to find a way to do this. its really easy to do all this with 1 mix on my 10X...so i'm a little disapointed it takes several mixes on teh DX7 to do the same thing. but thanks for posting this, i was about to ask this question, but i decided to hit the search button for once

I'm using a Throttle jockey pro and was having to do some headscratching.

I've set the AUX 2 to gyro, and plugged the governor into AUX 2. So am using the gyro settings for the governor. Works really well and I still have the 3 mixes to use. Now have a 2 speed setup for normal, Idle up 1 and 2. I use 75% for normal, approx 1600 headspeed. Idle up set at 85% to give approx 1850 headspeed.

I have the gyro set to AUX 2. So heading hold is selected via the Aux 2 switch. I prefer this and find it easier for me. I fly heading hold in normal for hovering manouevers, and switch the heading hold off in idle up 1 and 2.

I have my idle up 1 and 2 set the same, at the moment, -6, +4, +9.

When I get into 3D I'll use a mix to enable the heading hold in idle up 2, but I'm not brave enough, yet.

EDIT....Now using HH for all flight modes..

Hi Amitush25

There is a better way.....

Leave Aux2 working.
Set the up possition to the value you want for hover. and the down value to 50%....to be gov off.

Set pmix1 to be active in ST12. like you did
Set pmix 2 to be active in ST2.

This way you get the AUX2 switch to be an on/off switch that workes in all flight modes and an active rpm in hov/st1/st2

Works well for me.

there is another way.... i ALWAYS use a constant gain value for my gyro.

instead of hooking the gyro to the gear channel, hook it up to the aux2 and set your gain.

then you can set the gear channel up to be in auto gain mode, so it will change your gain in different flight modes automatically....but now it will change your rpm settings.

Hi guys

The problem i had with useing the Auto gain function....is i wanted to be able to flick from HH to NonHH to set up the gyro. What i had to do was set NonHH in hov and HH in st1 and 2. Then turn the heli on while in st 1 or 2 and once the gyro was 'on' i would flick back to HOV to start the motor and fly, while setting up the gyro.

I wanted a switch for HH/NonHH and a changing gain with the flight mode switch.....AND a Gov on/off switch and 3 rpm's with the flight mode switch.....i used to have a 14mz.......

If you do the rpm 'my way' you only use 2 mixers. That gives you 1 free.

I use the GEAR switch to switch from HH to NonHH with the same gain setting. I use it to setup the gyro and tail pushrod and to be able to check it from time to time.

I use gear for gyro gain and then the free mix to decrease the gain in ST12. I use the same mix value on both sides to change the HH/NonHH values to the same.

This gives the GEAR switch to switch between HH/nonHH and the AUX2 switch for Gov on/off. The flight mode switch gives 3 rpm and a low gain for ST12 and a higher gain for HOV.

You could move the switches around, but i like to have the Gyro gain switch on the right because i fly mode 1....tail on the left.....so when i turn to NonHH, i need to hold tail imput sometimes and it is easier with the 'free' hand.....

You must just remember that to change the Hov rpm you must change the AUX2 atv....to change the ST1 rpm, change the ST12 mix and the ST2 mix (one mix up and one mix down).....and to change ST2 rpm change the ST2 mix.

To change the gyro gain in hov mode change the Gear atv and in ST!@, change the ST12 mix.....

It may be a bit confusing, but you didn't buy a 14mz.....HAHAHA

I am curious about this mix, I installed my Rev Max today and have been trying to wrap my head around it all day.

Why is this mix only +13 when the ST1 mix is +76?

yet this one yeilds a higher headspeed?

because the st2 mix uses the st1 mix as a starting point.

st1=73

st2= +13 so st2 actually is 73+13 =86

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..
Nope.
It's ***ked!!!

Hi guys

Well actually....

the first mix should be ST12.....then it is active in ST1 and ST2.

If it is ST1, then it is only active in ST1.

thats what it is, but we were more referring to flight modes than the program mix.

It is possible to use the TJ Pro without any use of mixes on the DX7.

Just plug the TJ PRO remote gain (or whatever governor you use) in the AUX2 channel and program the right ATV+/SUBTRIM/ATV- percentage for the right rpms on each flight mode.

i.e.

If you want 50% in normal 60% in F.Mode1 and 75% in F.Mode2

AUX ATV -15%
SUBTRIM -100 (subtrim range 0-125 it's equal in percentage to 0-75%)
AUX ATV +10

I just learned something relative to the PMIX/governor solution. When I would hit throttle hold in Idle Up 1 or 2 my governor would assume the Idle Up 1 headspeed - it would not drop the throttle to the throttle hold position. The fix was to set Idle Up 1 in PMIX 3, Idle Up 2 in PMIX 1 and NORMAL in PMIX 2. PMIX 1 & 3 are similar in their response to the Throttle Hold switch, but PMIX 2 doesn't respond to that switch for some reason.

I have a DX7. There is a MUCH simplier solution. It is called the X9303 Not to be a smart-alec, but they left out governor software on purpose on the DX7 to sell upper end radios. It can be done as it has been shown, I just like much simplier solutions.

Rumor has it the DX-8 will make its debut at iHobby. Wonder how much more programming it will have over the DX-7?
