Im just wondering how one would go about making a swash driver?
I have a Realheli Maxum gasser, and Im quite interested in converting to flybarless in the next few months using the CSM system.
Its the mechanics of it that I need to know about.
Can someone explain to me what a swash drivers purpose even is?
Does it have to have a certain geometry or just the same as the washout levers geometry?
Could I not just leave one washout arm on the base, and have the base secured at its uppermost limit?
Pics would be excellent to go along with any explanations.
Cheers

Hi Gorn,

Function of swash driver is to simply stop the inner swash plate turning and keep the correct phasing of control inputs to rotor head.

Any form of driver is fine (washout arms etc.) to use as long as it does the job and allows enough collective range without binding at extrems of collective / cyclic etc. To see a Vario purpose made swash driver fitted, check my gallery.

I used both washout links on my Raptor to drive the swashplate. I'd rather have gone with the Century unit and probably will once I put a multi head on 'er.

I'm sure Russ ment to say the purpose of the drive is to turn the swash with the mainshaft as well as align the swash phasing.
