Same here - I was thinking of spending at least as much on a 400/450 anyways and considered for a moment getting this and giving the radio to my brother but I don't think it's really so justifiable for me to buy into it - I think a Trex would be a little more my caliber of a 400/450 class - From watching the video I'd swear my BL BCP could almost outperform it which is why I haven't bought into the HBK2 either

For those who kept their stock CX/CP radios and never did any modding the Blade 400 would be a nice next step though as that DX6i is hard to beat in a cheap RTF

Micro,
This morning I have been watching your video and just thought of trying your setup. I think you and GinoCp have pretty much nailed the CP pro. You guys make it easy for somebody like me to follow suite! I was pricing a Gy401 this morning and wondering if I should buy it and go brushless seperates with a gy 401. I can clearly see you tail holds better than mine. Gws DD ep3020 prop. I admit I am due to tune it a little better.... I really think I will get kicked out of the park where I fly if I go with a 400. Even that video sounds loud!

Yes the micro format still has a unique place. To mod the Blade CP/P you've got to love the format. Otherwise, get a mini for the flight characteristics you want. It makes more sense. Now, with the Blade 400, it even makes more sense to move up.

It makes more sense marketing wise. Now they have a distinct package. Only they have that d_mn gorgeous tx and the distinct Blade look. Might be a little late in the game, but at least they did it.

Fenderstrat,
You are right in that I wish they had an ARF. It'd be fun to finish it off too. I just think it would be easy to bind my Dx7 to the Blade 400. I have to admit I sat down and really got excited when I saw this new heli. The thought crossed my mind on selling the new tx online here or some where else if I don't need it.

Another thing is that at my level I would assume there would be no need for me "upgrade" this heli, not for a while anyway.

After thinking of this for an hour or so I wish they made these mods to a 300 sized heli.

After reading more this comes with the Ar6100e Rx.

Does anybody know if this Ar6100e has any significant difference over the Ar6100?
I would think that if one wants buy this kit and to sell the Tx, there probably would be demand for this Dx6 Tx.
Am I wrong in thinking this? Maybe I could get $80-$100 for it???
What do you think??

What level are you talking about. The 400 will be easier to fly. You can easily rack up $500 with a micro over time.

I wonder if this heli will fit in a Fusuno Airwolf fuselage, which is originally made for the Rex 450. As a cx2 flyer at the present time, this might be another choice for " the next step " heli. Some day I would like to build a scale heli, and from what I've read they need 7 channels. It's a shame E-flite didn't just go all out and package this with a DX7 or at least make it an option.

I guess it all depends what the price is for this bird. The features look real good and it comes with a Spektrum DX6 Tx. I figure that there will be people who are new to helis that will buy it.

HH obviously understand that they are getting into a more competitive market.

Price of replacement wood blades for the Blade 400 = $12.34
Price of replacement wood blades for the Blade CPP = $15.99

When I upgrade from the BCPP (and I currently own 3), I will be buying a 450 size machine, and another AR6100 to use with my DX7...

If it sells well that'll show that it makes sense; if it bombs then I'll agree it didn't make sense. Note, I'm only talking about making sense from a marketing standpoint; I'm not talking about whether it makes sense for you personally to buy one. You're manufacturing a contradiction by insisting that they intend to sell it to people in your position, who already own a nice radio, and then stating that you wouldn't buy it. I think there are plenty of people for whom this would be a great step up from a Blade CX or CP, instead of spending money upgrading a Blade or other cheapo RTF heli. I'd say that they just released it a little too late to benefit you, since you've already bought your nice radio, but there will be plenty more people looking for their first serious heli after this comes out.

I heard some where somebody saying that the tail looks as if it dose not hold as good, and another saying there bcp can out perform it. Keep in mind this is an rtf, it will have a cheep gyro. People maximize the performance of there blade cp so it can 3d better then most large helicopters. In time, the same will go for this new blade 400.

I really hope they will have a bare bones arf. It would be even better if they had a bare bones kit.
