I wonder if they have any intention of just selling the airframe only. I would much rather use my own components.

Interesting, although I'm not
sure they Fly every one of them.
I wish the people that fly them
at the factory, would chime in ?
That would be a cool job lol.

Pretty cool - I like the looks of it and that new DX6i is sweet lookin' as well - But too bad they didn't stick with the 300 class for now as there's already so many 400 class helis out there to choose from and so few decent 300 class helis - Oh well I didn't really see 'em going much farther with the BCP anyways

I honestly dont understand e-flite though...if you read their website its designed for the intermediate to advanced flyer...most people at that stage have a good radio already, so why would you buy a DX6i in a RTF package?......I'm more interested in the DS75 digital micro servos, those might be nice

I'm a little concerned about that bellcrank for the elevator. How much play is in that and how long before it gets worn and then the slop comes

I agree that I'd like to see a higher quality 300 class RTF. However this looks like one of the nicest RTF packages I've seen. I think it's the first RTF I've seen that actually comes with a transmitter that's good enough and general purpose enough that you'd actually want to use it for other aircraft.

Couldn't say it better bilbo. I think if nothing else Eflite will make a killing off of new people who want a 450 size bird but don't know what to get/can't afford the components separate. Now here comes the Blade 400 RTF with a decent spectrum radio and digital servos.

I think E-Flite's definition of intermediate might be different than yours or mine. They're just thinking in terms of their lineup of helis, so I think they consider anyone who's ready to move up from a Blade CX2 to be intermediate; i.e. the same people who'd be ready for a Blade CP or Blade CP Pro can now buy this if they want to spend a little more.

The DX6i looks to be quite a bit better than the DX6; somewhere between the DX6 and DX7 as far as features, so I think it's a pretty great deal, and a much better idea for a first heli than most RTFs, since it actually comes with a radio worth keeping, rather than the pretty much disposable radios that most RTFs come with.

I do agree that for intermediate pilots who've already invested in a good radio, this package doesn't make sense, but then I think RTFs don't make sense for those people, period.

Remember that E-flite and Spektrum are both owned and conducted by Horizon so packages like this that may seem odd to you only makes perfect sense for them - The DX6 needed updated to DSM2 and introducing it exclusively with the Blade 400 first greatly increases the Blade 400's value and attractiveness - I'm sure both will be available separately later on but in the mean time they can probably sell more of both packaged together like this And I'm sure they had people upgrading from their own CX and CP (in stock form with stock radios) in mind when skill classing etc the 400 package

I'm sure the DS75s are no more special than the S60s that have been out for awhile just "digitalized" S75s - The reason the S60s weren't labeled DS60s is because they weren't sure until the last minute if they were going to have the parts in time so the packaging was labeled just "S60"

but by their words thats their intended market, thats what doesnt make sense to me

here's the way I see it...I bought a CP and after 2 mos the stock radio crapped out(like the vast MAJORITY),so naturally I got a programmable radio because the CP got me totally hooked on this hobby,so now I have a decent radio, and they want me to buy an entire new radio system to fly their new T-rex clone....I dont think so

You're thinking a little ahead in skill - They don't specifically mean already intermediate to advanced skilled pilots - They mean pilots who want to step up to the intermediate/advanced level - They don't consider so many people ditching their CX and CP beginner radios and modding so they do consider the B400/DX6i package an appropriate upgrade from a CX or CP package

I don't think this is aimed at you. By buying a nice computer radio you already removed yourself from this heli's target market. I wouldn't buy one either, even though I'm complementing it on this thread, since I already own a nice radio, so I don't think I'll be buying any more RTFs. However if I had a friend just getting into helis who wanted an RTF, I think this is what I'd point them to now. It makes much more sense than buying a Blade CP Pro or HBK2 RTF or similar and then shortly thereafter replacing the stock radio and power system. I hope other RTF makers start following suit and putting together nicer packages like this with non-disposable radios.

E-Flite could offer it ARF, but then I don't think there would be anything special about it, since there are already plenty of nice 400 and 450 class helis on the market. It's the package they're putting together, combined with their excellent distribution network, that might make this the killer beginner heli.

Interesting package. Handsome radio. Just curious why not a 450. I am assuming they are badged on blade size. Good call on the metal swash and digital servos. As usual on looks alone, it looks very marketable and would certainly attract current EFlite users.

Turn on a dime. Flip like a quarter. Feel like a million bucks.

This does come with an Ar6100 As far as I can see all you would have to do is just match up your Dx7... Does this sound logical?
