Dude you love you Trex and hate Raptors, we get it already.
And for the record your trex isn't lighter and it does not fly any better then a Raptor...it's in you head.

Ummm.... a stock 600 Nitro flies oh so much better than a stock Raptor 50 - more stable and more responsive at the same time. Just my opinion of course, but I have had many a Raptor and a Trex 600 (both electric and nitro) and honestly, there is a difference between the machines from the box. Lots of guys are saying that if you do the full Kasama or GForce head on a rappy then they fly similar - but stock, they are quite different.

Lets imagine both machines fly so well and perfect from stock (Raptors and Trex Nitro), right?
then, why I'm going to pay $400 for a plastic-plastic heli and later add, for bling or upgrade, a $200 metal head simply because the raptor yoke is full plastic and tent to slope over time and use (and abuse)?.

I fly a Raptor and a Caliber 5 right now (caliber 5 is metal head and CF blades from stock and sells from $260) and to be honest both helis fly equaly the same, but one of them give much more as a consumer. I agree to send my Raptor to the thumb and replace with a 600N.

The other scenary is to push TT to relocate his market and prices where they really belong, under Calibers, Knights and the other under $300 bucks helis with stock metal heads.

Raptors are not bad, simply are overpriced helis for 10 years or more, fortunately Natural selection, as Darwin says, let only live the strongest ones.

Raptors R.I.P.

Raptors are great helis. They are flying very good out of the box but in order to be competitive with the modern helicopters they need at least 200 bucks in upgrades so why not spend that money and buy directly a fully upgraded modern designed heli like the TRex.

Yes I started learning with Raptors and I am still still flying them but yesterday I ride the bullet and I ordered a TRex 600N Pro. For 500 Euros I'll just take all the electronics and the Hyper from my Raptor and I'll drop them in the Rex.

I still like the Raptors they are good performers and cheap helis but everything is progressing and Raptors little by litlle become obsolete. Already my 50 is available for sale and soon my 90SE will follow as it will be replaced from a Stratus or (if will ever be available) an Aurora.

To be Fair

I have both. 600N does fly way better out of the box. I don't even have the fan problem.

However, I must say that the R50 plastic main frame is fantastic and was never damaged no matter how bad the crash was. As for 600N, if you have a crash, half of the time you will need to replace the main frame.

Frankly if one is only starting out, R50 will be a better choice. You really only need to have the metal yoke to have a good time.

As for value for money, I think 600N is a winner.

Buy what suits you.

that doesn't sound very promising as the Align CF frames are not that cheap as I have seen. With the Raptor I cannot say that I was that lucky as you I mean more than half the times the frames damaged but that was a USD 15 spare part.

I was expecting the CF frames to be stronger. In my Raptor 90SE so far have never managed to brake the frames.

Sectional preference in my opinion:
Raptor - Beginner to Pro
600N - Intermediate to Pro

You forgot to mention:

Trex 600N Sport $390 Stock metal head
Raptor titan $260 Stock plastic head (an absolute fair value, maybe less because it´s only stock woodies)

Where you picking up a titan for $260? $399 at heliproz. The lowest 30 kit is that much.

The price is a real estimation on how much money the raptors would be cost, not the obscene $400 compared with a superior machine like Trex or the Knights pro.
