Super_Hornet, That is one incredibly awesome looking aircraft. Super Job, Congrats. What did you use for the exhaust pipes and lower vertical fin/stabilizer. Also were did you source the 4 head main rotor.

Thanks fla_maxx

Exhaust is from thick paper...or drawing paper. Roll into a tube and cut to shape.

Lower Vertical fin is from balsa wood.

4 head is home made.

I notice that you have reversed the tail rotor and I assume the direction of rotation of the rotor head. Does this make any difference to the flight characteristics of the helicopter?

There I was inverted nothing on the clock but the makers name and only the joystick in my hand

Yes all my TRexes (UH-1M, EC135 and A109) are in CCW or Counter clockwise rotation (or left hand turn). The reason I done is to mimic the real heli (UH-1M, EC135 and A109).

In term of flying characteristic, it is the same as CW rotation...except when take off, it tend to drift to the right instead (just like CW will drift to the left)

If you going for CCW At first, u will not used to it. You tend to see the heli is like tilted to the left. After some time, u get used to it and everything normal.

Thanks for the reply,. One more question. I see no problem in swaping the head over and at first I assumed the tail gearbox would be rotated around the boom 180. Then I realised that the bell crank that drives the tail pitch slider is now on top??? do you have a custom gearbox or is there a tricky way of getting around this?

Well, u can either:
1. Turn your tail servo upward (or from one side to the other). Now your push rod is on top.
2. Use flexible cable (which I prefer especially in scale).

Scale Bodies

Hey I have to say that Align did it again, ive had both the Agusta and the Ec-135 ever since ircha, and they fly great. Drop in fit, and pretty scale looking. Well worth the buy!- Adam

Adam, have you had any problems with tail control on the EC? I have. If you have any tricks let me know...

Ive gone in circles with SH about the tail on the EC-135 but he denies any tail issues but come to find out he's not really running an average stock T-rex which is what most people would be putting in the EC-135 body. I have an EC-135 body which almost has the same dims as the align EC-135. Some of my findings are you have to run the headspeed at a higher rpm and also you have to get the tail rotor blades as far as you can from the shroud and fin of the EC-135. The closer the tailblades are to the fin and shroud the less clean air you have to get good tail authority. Also SH is running his main and tail blades in a reverse/flipped manner which may also help the tail somewhat. But the trick is to get the headspeed up and get as much clean air around the shroud and vertical fin. I think he also mentioned he's running a 4s instead of a 3s which is what most people are running.
