Any suggestions for keeping these on? I have the Vario silcone and have tried Aerotrend, they wont stay connected. Tried hose clamp almost so tight that it bends the exhaust manifold. Tried roughing up the surface of both the pipe and the coupler, tried hairspray (old car racing trick). GD thing keeps coming off.
Appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

you need to flare the ends of the pipe.

Hey,

I had this issue with a zimmerman pipe on my old Mille2, nothing wrong with the connection as such but the silicone joiner would degrade very quickly and everytime it was replaced it took ages to get the settings just right again.

I ended up getting some Vario teflon joiner and HD clamps, this setup was awesome!! but it made the join so solid that i had to put in a silicone piece where the rear clamp held the pipe so that there was some give in the system.

Never had an issue again with joiners blowing out or slipping.

Cheers!

I second the vario teflon coupler, I have never had one leak and it lasts a very long time.

Good luck

If you use the silicone ones, I have found that if you clean both the coupler and the header/pipe with alcohol before installing it stays on much better.
