I'm thinking of going to a DX7 radio and sell off the 9C that I have been using for 2 years now. What RX is the best for the trex 450? What are the down sides too the dx7, compared to a 9C? who has the best deals on them right now?

oh yea go for the dx7 get the ar6200 reciever. I am not sure where the best place to get the dx7 without reciever and servos is though... for the T-rex 450 I dont think there are any down sides to the dx7 compared to the 9c

Seems like the data that I have gathered locally is that people that come from Futaba have a much harder time getting used to JR/Specktrum. For me.... after the first setup, u can throw the book away because the programming is way easy and with a 9c I felt like I always had to have a full staff of people, 6 phd's, 3 manuals and alot of head scratching......

Go for it!

To the best of my knowledge, the DX7 is the only system with Model Match which has saved my a$$ at least four times, now. So I have a "free" system the way I see it.

There aren't really any downsides.. the only thing you'll notice since you're coming from team F is setting up the gyro. Well, what I mean is if you're using a 401 or 240 on your T-Rex the set up is a little more straight forward w/ a F radio. But that will take like 5 min to figure out. After that it's gravy.

I recently sold my 9chps for the dx7. Setting up the dx7 was simple even coming from the 9c. Just flip through the pages on the menu and set them up. Most of the terminologly is the same or similar to the 9c. There is a short video of dx7 setup at heli-freak with all the other 450 setup videos. I bought mine at espritmodels because they sell just the radio or the radio and a receiver without the servos. I didn't need or want the servos that come with the dx7 so it save me a little money. I have the 6100v1.2 reciever in one 450 and the 6200 in another. Both work equally well.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
