Why are you selling it if it's such a great AP platform? Is it too much hassle to set up?

I think there are many reasons, and I'm not trying to make it difficult for visual to sell. I hope somone has a need for it and will purchase it from him. I don't know for sure, I have never had one of these, but as with everything I do my research. What I have found out is that this platform is obviously succeptable to the least litte breeze. I don't know how it is in every one elses neck of the woods, but here I almost NEVER have a "perfect no wind day". I am almost always flying in a 5-15 mph breeze or wind and sometimes its more than that. This being the case, I guess I would have to ask myself how much woud I be able to use this thing in those conditions?

Hello, As with all balloons we know that high winds make it difficult to launch, but as we all know when a balloon is up in the air there are all types of wind conditions.

I am selling this because I am in a high debt situation.

I have no time to train and learn to fly and wreck an rc helicopter or the money to pay for any broken gear as a result.

This is a cost effective platform, and All methods have advantages and disadvantages.

Balloons are usually launched in the mornings before wind develops.

I COMPLETELY DISAGREE that the Balloon cannot be flown above 'the least little breeze'

But thanks for all the input, I would like to ask how the people that build, fly, and have their own air photo business at modelballoon.com

A balloon gives the best video tracking shots. It IS very stable. And does not need an expensive 'Gyro' to stabilize the video.

The Balloon will not crash. It slowly rises and slowly sinks. There is a tether to reel it in.

Truly its advantages are in Video over photos, b/c you can have a high shutter speed and there is no shake in the photo.

Thanks for inquiry.

Todd

I might be of some help on this subject.
I have one of these setups and flown it in light to easy winds with no problem. It’s tethered so it’s got no place to go.
The best part of this type of platform is if you think something is not right shut off the gas and let it settle back to earth.
Lets not forget how big the envelope is so it’s not such a good idea to land on a group of people.
The burner is kind of loud and the flame shoots out an easy 10 feet. Very cool at night

The down side is on warm to very warm days the lifting capabilities are greatly reduced.

For me, tons of fun, easy and safe system to play with.

For the rocord I never said that this platform could not be flown in a breeze or any other condition. I SAID its succeptable to the least little breeze. What that means is that I can fly my heli or Slow Stick in a 20-25 mph wind and take pictures when something like this would be grounded. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a big surface area like that is going to limit your ability to work with even light winds hitting the side of it. I don't know what other people consider light winds, but here anything below 15mph is a light wind in my book as the wind almost never completly stops blowing. I can fly my Slow Stick in 25mph winds, and in 10 minutes take 100 pictures. The cost of my Slow Stick minus the electronics is a whopping 31 bucks. Total time at the shoot? 15 minutes.
Look, I hope you sell the thing. I'm not trying to discourage people from buying your balloon. I'm sure there is an application for it. The only reason I even responded with this post is because you mis quoted me. So please eveyone disregard all I've said.
