I see what you are saying, the T-rex parts allowed you to MOVE THE 0 PITCH point to the center of travel.am I correct???...I dont know if a S-75 has that much throw??

edit......sorry to hear about the crash......I had to laugh though because on time I buried my blade and I KNOW something hit my side fence!!!LOL but I still never figured out what...but all in all the HBK seems to take a hit well?

Correct. If you have the equipment that can do it, why not make the best of it...

You should be able to get that much throw with any servo if you have the correct length servo arm, having enough torque to move it that far under load is another matter.

Yes, overall the King 2 sustained minimal damage considering it hit the ground in idle up, would have been enough to inflict multiple broken bits on the smaller scale CP series helis!

sorry to make you a guinea pig but I will. It sure would be nice to see some pics and an explanation of the crash to show how much stronger this heli is compared to other 300 size helis. Sounds like you were pretty fortunate for an idle up ground stike. Good luck getting back in the air by the end of the week.

Back in the air

As expected the parts arrived today, the benefit of living close to the source

It took a couple test flights to get everything back to where it was before the crash, but it's pretty much back to normal now. The new rotor blades balanced much better than the originals, it took about a half inch of tracking tape as opposed to the two complete wraps it took on the orignals.

While I was at it, I made a few more tweaks to the setup in the DX7. The HS 65 servos are far more responsive than the JR's they replaced, I dialed down the swash movement to 55% rather than the 65 I had before, and added some exponential to the elevator and alieron. Funny thing is that I had to bump the pitch setting up to around 75% to be able to get 0 degrees at half travel and +/- 11 at each end.

Still working on the programming to get it to the sweet spot, much closer now, but still not exactly where I want it.

Total damage for the crash, 1 broken rotor blade, 1 broken servo arm and missing linkage on the elevator, broken rear landing gear support, and a chewed up vertical tail fin.

OOPS the third wire was shadowed I guess I should of known they wouldn't of used a white wire for ground anyway. My bad anyway awesome bird but why are the upgrade parts purple. You should get to pick your color I would like some anodized blue.

I bet that thing will be a rocket way past my skill level but it just goes to show you really can do a lot with 300 size helis thanks to brushless power.

what you REALLY need is a laser cut titanium flux capacitor with carbon fiber cover.....even if you can only hover tail in it allows you to do backward inverted flaming spiral death hurricanes with a piro at the end......I love mine
