mAh /flying times

Hey tryan02, how long are you flying with your set up ? I have the same motor as you and have a 9 tooth on it. I have a TP1320 mAh in it and I'm getting 8 minutes. This will put me a tad below 80% of the pack. Or rccarguy, how about your set up, with the 10 tooth. Is your head speed pushing the limits ? I'm thinking on going to a 10 tooth that is why I'm asking.

I'm still putting in the powertrain and trying to decide what lipo to buy . I'm still hovering with a little forward flight so I need a high mah pack with good discharge.

HBK2 too hot out to fly

Wanted to fly today but it is HOT!!! outside. I put some bright orange vinyl on my canopy so I can see it better. I'll do stuff like this when the weather sucks. I found that just putting orange on top of the canopy helps big time with flying these helis. I have one ornge stripe on top of my T-rex and it works wonders. On my HBK2 I hated the stock stickers so they came off first thing. I like this better.

You do have HDX300 motor right. What is the black cap on the motor for air? And I guess I learned a lesson that outrunner means the armature coiled windings and all maintains stationary while the case spins?

Oh and by the way great canopy how did you get the body line cut out so perfect? I got the yellow heli so orange is not a good mix But I know what you mean about seeing the orange my bcpp is flourescent orange.

It may be a fan but mine does not have one. Does it bolt into the three holes on the top ? I never have heat problems with my hdx300 outrunner. It runs cool all the time. When I first picked up my outrunner I thought it was broken when I saw the can moving. I kid you not I was trying to tighten up set screws because I didn't know the outside spun. I was pissed off because I thought it was busted. LOL, I like outrunners better. On the canopy I took low tac masking tape and stuck it on the canopy then sketch some lines on it that flow with the lines of the canopy. Then put the low tack masking tape on the vinyl and cut on your sketched lines with scissors. Then use the backing of your cut pieces of vinyl to duplicate the other side of the heli so both sides match perfect.

yes bolts into three holes and makes little channels into the can. I thought the same thing although I was smart enough to look on the net and noticed the word outrunner working in electronics I thought well kinda odd but in principle it would work.

Yup, it is a fan and I want one of them on mine. I know I don't need one but it is just such a sweet design. I have to spend some time to get air up into the front of my heli to cool the Batt down. It has been way too hot outside and although my batts are not hot they are warm when i land . I have to wait a while before I throw it back on the charger. Thinking on putting a few drilled holes under the canopy along the 2 notches. So air forces up and around the batt.

The king has arrived !

my king arritived today ! i installed the brushless from my pro onto it along with the g90 . it flys very smooth and i love the tail , ahhhh no more tail motors ! dosnt have the punch my pro had but it flys so much better and built stronger, for a cheap micro heli you cant xpect much more .i was suprised that my futaba radio worked with its stock receiver and came with the right crystal! how can eflite even try to compete? there pro is allmost 100 bucks more than the king , it dont make much sense. im glad to have a small size heli that i finnaly can injoy. im one of those guy who put 700 bucks in a pro to find it wasnt ever reliable , 700 bucks would buy a nice trex what the heck was i thinking? im glad the king came out with the belt version i like it .

I am unstable and have no safe mode

We try not to swear in this group Turner0022 we dont Use the 4 letter T-word. We definitely don't compare a BCPP to a 450 size heli or any micro for that matter. The HBK2 is a micro 300 size heli If you find a better one let us all know. But anyway congrats on the HBK2 and keep us posted on any info you could share.

Outrunner Fans

I just e-mailed heli Direct to see if he can come up with a part number so we can order the fans for the hdx300 outrunner. I have seen people with these fans but can never find them .

hey turner022....since the HBK is a little heavier, you may want to go up a tooth or two on your pinion since the main blades are bigger it can handle it....I bet you will get the punch you are missing right back, then you'll REALLY love it
