More time spent in Off Topics usually means less time is being spent flying. Sadly, there's lots of 'odd' reasons why sensible priorities become skewed.

Welcome to the jungle.

You should have to have a minimum amount of posts in the heli sections to remain a member of this site. I'm sure theres a couple people on here that haven't seen a heli in a decade.

ya, the thing with minimm heli posts is they could make up a random question or something, still doesnt mean they have any interest in helis.i guess what it comes down to is who has lives?

I thought this was obvious to all here but it seems not.

And as to who you are talking about, well we know who they are.
The usual suspects.
The 3 amigo's of far left political persuasion.

They are here because everyone here bites.

If they went into other forums, off topics or not, and aired the constant political drivel as they do, they's get told to phuck off quite a lot.
But here they get the arguments they want.
Who is to bleme for it, anyone who takes their bait.

If all those here that take the bait and post replies to them ceased to do so, there would be nothing left here for them and they would go to another forum where they can find some other folks to bait.

I think some who argue with them know that, and it suits them to spend a good amount of time in off topics posting replies of a like kind to these recalcitrant political trolls.

Knowing if they don't keep up the game, the political trolls will leave and they will have less to amuse themselves with at RR.

So really neither side can complain.

They bait with the posts and replies in posts
The others bite the bait.
A game that suits both sides.

So if you don't like it, just ignore it.

At worst it consumes Mark Ryders server space and processor time, but it doesnt bother him so it doesnt matter.

I do some "off topics" stuff, but Im certain that in no way, a signifant number of TOTAL POSTS come from there. (at least I hope now, I dont really keep track.

Im at like 1700 TOTAL POSTS, which puts me at "Key Veteran" status, which in all honesty, is a bit unfair. By the end of the year, at this rate, I'll be an "Elite Veteran" which is REALLY unfair, and kinda sad, cuz I SUCK!! (but then again, I never watch TV, and spend most of my time on the internet.)

A GREAT IMPROVEMENT TO RUNRYDER
would be:

Make those "USER STATUS TAGS" actually mean something.
Sy for example, Posts in classifieds, Off Topics, Jokes, etc, should NOT count toward total posts, and not determine the "user status" of the member.

A lot of the Key Vets, Elite Vets, etc wouldnt have that status right now if that was the case.

The only guys I really feel that deserve such a tag, are guys like BarracudaHockey, TMoore, Z11357345664884398343456 , and a few others (sorry if I didnt list you )

Oh, and HeliVig's user status should be changed from "expert heliman" to "Veteran Expert Key Elite Heliman Professor Master" or more simply put, "god"

I agree!! well, classifieds could count, cuz they are heli related, but i agree with the others! i rarely post in off topics, i think this is probably the first thread ive started in off topic..

I've been here since 2001 I think and I don't know any of the people here anymore. It was a nice time when I could keep up with EVERY single post on here but thats gone now and so is my need to ask questions, therefore I use this part of the website for what its best for, wasting time.

I for one have never flown as much or as hard in such a short time period as this year... however I don't really need any help as everything is working fine and I have all the knowledge that I need from previous years when I was holding myself back from flying hard in fear of crashing. Not caring COMPLETELY turned me around as a pilot...

No complaint from me.
Just my view on it.

FWIW
I improved my typing skills roughly the same way in the late 90's on Usenet.

Whats in a status?

not much...

the amount of post MEANS nothing

lets analyze...

A newbie is not proven to be any less knowledgeable than an RR master...its just means he is new to this forum.

An RR master might have signed up since the inception of RR, where he might have obsolete information as well...so it plays both ways.

Each has their own unique experiences with the abundance of helis out there.

It should be eliminated completely as the quality of the information is what should really count...But ALAS...who is going to monitor that? Quality control or another RR Master? Marc? dont think so.

What works for one might not work for another as some is try and see.

bottom line...get over your post count.
"god"
yes? can i help you?

All the posts in the Helicopter forums are mostly newbies asking questions...And testing stuff..

Nothing new for me there, I can fly and repair and pick equipment up without any issues.

-= I know there is Money in RC helicopters. I put it there=-
