This heli flew great. After the first tank i took my woodies off and set a 2000rpm headspeed with my carbons. I set everything as 3d as a could except the box stock paddles were set to the forward hole.

No other mods box stock Pantera and it was almost as fast on the cyclics as my raptor with reds and ultralights. It cost extra money to make my raptor that fast. Drools thinking stubs mmmmmmm.

The monster collective Im guessing due to the 120 CCPm and design prompted me to do things i have never did with a heli. I was doing pitch pumping tic-tocs. You had no problems seeing it move it obviously jumped forward and baack with every movement of the stick. Its a pretty confidence inspiring machine for me to do that on its 3rd and 4th tanks of life.

The hover on this machine with these settings is something I wouldnt hesitate to reccommend to a complete beginner rock solid as anything I have ever hovered period. I feels very smooth in the air and does exactly what you tell it. I also tested the tail with maneuvers that would blow the tail on my raptor not the pantera though and I was in too much of a hurry to fly it I didnt even take the stock plastic tails off.

The build also went great everything lined up properly everywhere the mainshaft slid into the bearings with ease. A few of the links were off and needed to be adjusted slightly. I never even had to put this heli in track it was in track when it left the ground.

Great job jbeech please get the 70 conversion on the market this heli will be insane with that kind of power. I cant wait!!!!!!

I would also like to thank jbeech for his support when I had questions building the Pantera his longest response time was 6 hours to a RR pm.

Anyone have any more questions I'll do my best to answer.

Donnie

Thanks for posting your thoughts Donnie, especially as you're coming from a Raptor and as a consequence, I feel what you have to say may very be of special value to folks considering a Pantera when they have a Raptor background.

Speaking of our tech support; we're going to be at IRCHA this week and thus, out of touch until next Monday. Hence, we'll be depending on you guys online to help folks with anything that crops up.

Also, do not put tail rotor blades longer than 90mm on her or you risk over stressing the mechanics. Remember, they turn much faster than a Raptor's tail and hence, the usual Raptor trick of using 90-95mm tail rotor blades is unnecessary. Frankly, the stock tail rotor blades work great . . . so why go to the expense?

Finally, did you get my PM about how to speed your machine's cyclics up so that it's faster than a Raptor? Nothing expensive and rather easy, in fact. Let me know if that does the trick for you.

Good review! I too am switching over to the Pantera from a Raptor. I should have the heli soon and I look forward to getting it ready to go.

JBeech, I will try your suggested settings on my Pantera I did get the pm.

Enahs, All I can say is the longer you wait themore your going to regret it. If you for whatever reason dont like it keep me in mind a second Pantera would look good setting in the back of my truck when im getting ready to go fly. Means I can fly my first one harder.

I will only have to wait until Monday or so when FedEx delivers my Pantera. Bought it used off of here from RCHeliJim.
