CP & CX threads are dying... :-(
Only 3 or 4 posts a day... thats kinda sad...

So i thought i would post something... even though its not that interesting.

I rebuilt a blade CX... just because... (yes... i already have several large, and blinged helis)

1. 2x Ball bearing motors for Lama v3/4
2. Extreme landing skids kit
3. Extreme Carbon tail boom/gear
4. LED flybar
5. 4x DN Power 850mah's
6. New canopy paint to match the white/black Trex 600n (i love the white for some reason)

Notes? This thing flies like a pig!
haha

I got the shortened flybar, to go with the LED flybar... and let me tell you... this thing is sensitive. It is harder to fly than my CPPro. haha

AMAZING flight time... with the new motors and batts.. i get almost 14 mins flight time. WAY up from 8 with the stock crappers.

The motors have the standard brushes... haven't installed the silver ones yet.

The only downside from this project i see, is that the trimming can be difficult for a newbie. I had a hell of a time getting it trimmed.

I do not notice a single improvement otherwise... just some flight time. P.S. I spent well over 120 bucks here... don't waste your time, just buy another CX and have double the flight time and spares. hehe

I'll post pics soon. I'm at work right now. and disregard the slightly offwhite canopy.. apparently "bright flourescent white" isn't exactly white. Not sure what bright white is named... "bright flourescent white... no.... really... its white"

oh yah... i forgot to mention... Those little motors get entirely too hot running in one full battery. I have to land after about 7 mins, let cool to the touch, rinse and repeat.

I think the BLADE CP has sort of hit a wall....most of us that have one have done all we can with it...you go BL,DD,HH and thats about it...The problems have been so well documented and we've tried every possible upgrade/mod/fix that there's nowhere left to go....you either enjoy it as it is and accept it like that ...or move on

I don't think you have to worry about that in the Blade section

I've had my micro for a little under a year. It has morphed into every possible tail variant. In the end I got it to fly the way I hoped it would be. A belt tail, a nice tail servo, and a good gyro. Needless to say I have pumped more than $1000 into mistakes, accidents, and upgrades.

Then it took one flight on my CopterX mini heli to put the micro in its place. The belt micro was nowhere near the handling of my mini.

I understand the resentment with the "oh no, there goes the TRex" line but really, until you own one, you will always be bothered with that statement.

I have no regrets spending on my micro. I learned a lot along the way and I fly a lot better. I consider that tuition fee. But will I go the same path if I were to do it all over again? No. I'd keep the cheap heli cheap then buy a great one as soon as my skills are limited by the cheap heli.

hrm... i've owned a trex... and i'm not all that excited about em. To be honest...

Could be that i suck equally on any platform... haha

My trex handled about as squirrly as my blade pro... and i have yet to have tail holding issues with mine... still on the original motor, going on 150 flights.

I have 3 spares, with no place to go.. haha

I own a 450 size heli just as good or better than a REX and that T-REX stuff still annoys the hell outta me....There's no reason for someone to butt into a post about a BLADE and give no helpful advice, just say "the BLADE is junk get a T-REx" when someone is posting for advice or is having trouble I have never said "get rid of that BLADE get a TITAN"...I try to help....Thats all I'm saying.....theres still a place for the Blade it can be a great little heli but the constant comparisons to a REX gets very very old

Interesting. But now, it's get a King 2. I've always wondered what King 2 threads are doing in a Blade CP/CX forum.
