I guess Hirobo isn't offering the same upgrade hub for the EVO as they are for the Freya. Bummer

I was unaware of any problems with the Sceadu auto hub . . . that's probably the EX part you are talking about, and no deal, since it's not necessary . . . .

Here's the part number:

0412-290 SD-G High torque auto rotation ASSY (for Sceadu Evo 30/50)

I don't know of anyone who is running this part. On the Freya, the stock autorotation bearing had a tendency to break quite often. On the 50-class it seems to hold up for about a year of flying unless you're bailing out of autos routinely.

As far as I know this assembly does not come with the EX kit. It is an available upgrade for both the EX and standard Evo kits. Unless MRC/Hirobo offer a promotion or a better price I doubt they'll sell enough of these to pay for the engineering/machining costs.

I installed one in my EX kit, not sure it was required, but it is the quietest heli I have ever flown

Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off.

I've had them fail before. I think once on each heli. But it lasted a long time. For the cost of the upgrade, you could just replace the stock hub once a year and stay well ahead of the game.

Thanks for all the input guys. I think I'll take your advice and replace hub with stock when it fails.
