I wouldn't use anything but Flightpower. IMHO they are the best pack on the market.

I agree with Lith. I had 3 packs of D-N and all three packs swelled up on me. D-N replaced one pack for me after it swelled and then the other two swelled up also and I don't do hardley any 3d stuff. Total of three packs and a $100 down the drain. Stay away from the D-N packs. I now have three sets of evo packs and no trouble with them.

but... does the stock motor is suitable to use 4S packs? I've heard to use only packs only up to 3S?

Sooo, if I read this right, I can run a 4s pack on my standard esc and motor?

That would be interesting.. I like the sound of this.

O.K. My setup have changed a bit.... I was going to use the stock motor on 4S but the only 11t pinions I have are short and will not reach the main gear with the stock motor shaft. I ordered the TT 11t pinion but it is not in yet. I did get a Z-10 motor and since it has a longer motor shaft I was able to use the pinions I have now so that motor is now in there. My setup now is.....

-Z10 motor/11t pinion
-4S TPX 2070mah packs
-Stock ESC
-6V 3A BEC
-DS285 servos
-DS3400G tail servo
-401 gyro
-Align 325 Pro woodies
-Align carbon print paddles
-Align aluminum mixing arms
-Hyperion carbon tail blades

Seems like it will be a blast to fly but I do seem to be getting bog at 10/10 pitch and I was expecting more punch. How much bog is everyone else getting at 10deg pitch? After 5min flight everything is cool and the packs is only a tad warm to the touch. I am also running non gov mode in the ESC. When I get the other pinion in I will put the stock motor in just to compare.

I have a simular setup! I will have to say the Z10-3300 is probably the reason for the bog and maybe the stock ESC. I run a CC35. Mine does the same thing as yours but not very bad because it's a little lighter and again the ESC may have something to do with it. I'd like to try a Jazz ESC just for fun.

I've been happy with the Z10-3300 motor until mine died on me the other day. I did get a free replacement but still I'll be going with a 1107/2Y NEU motor. I will report back here Tuesday and let you know how it flies and if this cures the light bogging.

EDIT*** The NEU motor I'm getting Tuesday has the 2.3mm shaft so that means you can use only a 9, 10 or 11 tooth pinion. I was using a 11 tooth with the Z-Power Z10A-3300 but will be using a 10 tooth with the NEU 1107/2Y

Yeah I also have a 10t TT pinion on the way I will try. Only other ESC I have is an Align 35A so perhaps I will try it, that was another thing I was thinking to try. I got this motor because everyone who has one says it is crazy and just a rocket..... it does have lots of power but over rated perhaps?

I agree and I probably unknowingly over rated it myself. It is a good motor and makes lots of power for it's size and price range but their is better avaiable I'm sure. I'm itching bad for the NEU thats coming in the mail tomorrow!!!

Go to a DX7.... I havent had one little hicup since I went to it.

As for the NEU 1107/2Y man it's so quiet and smooth. I didn't expect that. Tomorrow I will be ringing it out and will let you know how it does. I think it's going to be a power house with no bogging.

Will get back tomorrow with a report.

Yeah let me know! I was just looking at a DX7 today so I think I will get one soon. Today I took out the stock ESC and BEC and put in an Align ESC.... has a 6V internal bec and the stock ESC only has 5V. I am going to try it.... I think the BEC I had in there was the cause of the glitching... now I get to see how the Align ESC will do without a BEC on 4S and all digitals! Could be fun!

I've just installed my 4S last night and test flew it (just hover and collective pops in a small area in front of the garage).

It is absolutely ridiculous the kind of power it has. Most of us do not need this kind of power and speed - but.. I've got a metal head and it should be safe so what the heck, lets give it a try.

video to come..

I played around with the NEU 1107/2Y/2.3 today. Didn't get much time to fly, only once. I still think it's very quiet and smooth. It seems to be very efficient because I put back 200mah less than I normally do with the Z-Power Z10A-3300!!! This makes me very happy.

I didn't get to ring it out like I wanted but did get to do a few hard punch-outs. +10 degrees and held in like a champ! The motor was a little on the toasty side but not enough to harm anything. Going to loosen my tail belt a hair and see if this helps it. I doubt it will but non the less It's overall performance and efficiency is a real winner! The Battery was colder than usual and it looks like my Flightpower 25C 4s 1800 is going to have enough mah to keep me happy with the NEU.

More tomorrow!!!!!!!
