Wow! You guys are guttsy with maiden flights aroung houses, trees, lamp post and power lines. Anything can go wrong on a new bird. Quite frankly that is the greatest probability of failure, its first few flights.

And then it cross an ocean being handled by a bunch of people that could give a rats a$$ about your heli. It probably had the worst shake, rattle, and roll that it will ever experience from now on if you don't send it somewhere else. Maybe you don't think of it as a maiden flight but I sure would.

Well you are rihgt about it but its not that close to trees and some as it looks we would not test it if it could be to any danger to heli or ppl and it sure went well and whitout any misshaps

Put some lights on it and fly it through the night - that will soon get it broken in

Ace,

Please quit making assumptions based on little or no personal knowledge and let the man enjoy his machine and his posting of it on the internet.....

There is no main to tail clearance problem (we're not that stupid to even try it (hint, hint)) and you CANNOT tell how close or how far he is from anyone or anything in that picture.

IOW, leave him alone....Geez.

Never said there was; only asked some questions.

Got my answers from someone else Chris but thanks for your concern.

Gyro, denial is not just a river in Egypt!

You said: "From the photograph it looks like the main blades are out farther than the center of rotation of the tail blades. Isn’t there a risk of a blade strike with this arrangement?"

Please enlighten us as to how this was not suggesting a tail clearance problem?

I dont see any clearance problem in the pic, it is just the perspective of the main rotor and chassis giving a wrong impression.
Seems to be ok.
