How many flights have you gotten on yours? Any lockups?

I am not saying it is the best or even that it will hold up but it surely is holding up better than my stock one that locked up on the second flight. For the price I figured I would chance it.

I'm still using the stock bearing. It had one lockup at HOD a couple weekends ago (freed itself on the next flight, but disassembled and used the lube that Hootowl gave me (some dupont teflon stuff). Havent had a problem yet. Been about a gallon. Bought the bearing set to have an entire set handy. At $22 buck for every bearing in the heli and there class 3 really couldnt go wrong. What class is the Boca? If its a five its worth it but if its a 3, then not.

Update on new one-way

I would like to take the opportunity to tell you guys that i am now a happy camper The HF1216 bearing really does work and the fit is right with the existing sleeve. I made about 5 flights yesterday and the one-way is still smooth as silk, no slop, and best of all it hasn't it didn't lock up(old one would have already).

So if your getting sick of lockups, or have a wobbling main gear get the new bearing.

I ordered one of these one way bearings form ebay. Thing is when it came it looked nothing like the picture on ebay, it still had a rubbish plastic race. I am still using my align (german) bearing with lithium grease with no problems since replacing grease. 3 gallons so far

If your one-way still hasn't locked up it maybe one of the few that doesn't have a problem, I guess time will only tell. Aside from the one-way locking up, there is also another problem with the fitting of the sleeve in the one-way. If your main gear isn't wobbling in its position, it should be okay as well.

How to tell if bearing is locking up?

hey theviper there is not an issue with the carbon version as far as I can tell, my carbon and several other guys i know who got the carbon everything is working great it is just the sport kit with the silver G-10 frames. Guys if I am wrong let me know. You can tell the bearing is locked up when auto's feel weird sometime makes a screeching noise, when you land try to free-spin the main gear if it does not free-spin in one direction then your one-way is locked up!

when inverted... down is up and up is expensive

The carbon kits have had lock up problems also. Jaxrotor has 3 kits and never used any special grease and he has had no problems but then others had lock ups right away so it just depends.

Your autos will feel heavy since you are spinning the main gear and clutch. You can still auto but you just want have as much cushion.

fwiw...

Lock up problem is vastly overstated in nitro helis...Raptors for years had an on again, off again issue...ATF solved all my problems(related to one way bearings), but many disagree..

If you lock up a bearing on a nitro heli, all that happens is the clutch bell is driven, resulting in a tiny loss of auto performance...On an electric, the mains have to drive the motor...this is a MUCH bigger issue...All in all, I'm still on the stock bearings with ATF as lube...No issues so far on E 600 helis...Where I have a lot more power going through the auto hub...Nitro to follow....

I got one of the Boca Bearings one-ways -> no more lock-ups. I had lock-ups every flight with the stock unit. I am still using the original sleeve too. Just can't seem to lock-up the Boca bearing - smooth and free after every flight now.
