> WE ALL WANT OUR FOOD TO TASTE LIKE MOM'S COOKING

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I was the one that did not look forward to home cooking during college breaks while all the other guys were craving it.

I would indeed like a throttle or at least idle-up switch activated timer. I fly electric so throttle cut is of no concern to me.

I am a recent convert to a DX7 from a Futaba 9C. As such, am I the only one who can't find a single reason to upgrade further to the X9303?

I fly planes and helis (both glow and electric) and aside from a couple items, the DX7 does everything I have ever required from a transmitter. And interestingly, those couple things the DX7 doesn't do.... neither does the X9303. Throttle activated timer and throttle kill switch are the main ones.

Don't tell me this is a Ford or Chevy thing.... these are useful features, not just different approaches to programming. The throttle activated timer means that I don't have to remember to start my timer manually. The throttle kill switch.... yes I can kill the engine with the throttle trim, but it takes time to ramp down to zero and in an emergency I would vastly prefer to be able to flick a switch and have the engine stop immediately.

The X9303 looks like a nice (expensive) transmitter but as a current DX7 owner I can't see any reason to buy one.... it doesn't add anything that I NEED.

I'm gonna upgrade to a 9303 from DX7 and was a previous 9CHPS owner. I am upgrading for the extra channel (for GV-1 purposes) as well as because you can dial in some throttle delay from throttle hold to allow smoother recoveries from autos.

Quick question, I had my plane setup with a 9303 and the spektrum module and ar9000 rx. I just swapped it out for an x9303 and the 921, transferred all my numbers to the x9303. When I turned on the radio everything works fine, but all my centers were off and endpoints off a bit, what is the cause of this? Thanks

The only thing I'll REALLY miss is a throttle cut switch. Using trim to kill the engine seems bass ackwards to me...
Well correct me if I am wrong, but don't JR have to make a euro version (the 9XIII) with a lower power output to comply with EU regulations? If so, one might hope that they give us more advanced flyers in Europe and Asia digital throttle trim and a throttle cut switch

paul...

you are correct for the most part..
the additional channels would be the biggest reason.. I did manage to cram the dx 7 into my helis.. from a 9c... but I gave up some functions.. gv 1 and such. I would like the the 9 channels back so I can set up my helis like I did before. I am going to wait for used 9303's to come on to the market when the 12 channel is released... Momma didn't raise no dummies.. 1/2 price baby!

I was at the LHS last night and they had TWO airplane versions on the shelf. When I asked about them they told me people don't want plank versions. If anyone wants to call them here is the number. 858-560-9633

I flew my Raptor for years on a Futaba 9C airplane version (mode switch on the right) and I have to say I prefer it there. When I bought my DX7, I discovered that at least on the couple DX7s in the LHS, the mode switch was on the left on heli AND airplane versions so I re-learned the left hand switch location and decided to never fly helis on the airplane version Futaba any more.

Do you HAVE to have the mode switch on the left? And whose brilliant idea was it to make the switch location different on the two versions in the first place?

I am still thinking to get X9303 and sell me DX7. Is it necessary or good upgrade? My buddy keep telling me I don't need X9303 but I have an urge to buy one every time I see X9303 on the picture. I cannot find a good reason to spend 2X of money for the upgrade that I don't know. However, I am keep thinking about it, kind of like an itch. Anyone who has DX7 before/now and have X9303, please share your opinion.

I went from the XP9303 (72 Mhz) to the DX-7 and miss many of the advanced features that the XP9303 had. When they release the X9303 without servos, I will be selling my DX-7 to get it. The added programming ability (governor menu, more mixes, more channels, etc.) are worth the money. The 9303 also feels much better in my hands than the DX-7. The DX-7 feels to light for me.

If you desire a radio with more capabilities and versatility, than the X9303 is an excellent choice.

I have the new 2.4 9303, the tumbler is a nice thing to have for certain, and the menus are easy to navigate through, best of all everything is on one screen, no secondary screen. And a few other bells and whistles make it nice to. I did have the DX7 it was a great radio as well, the 9303 is just abit more high quality feeling and looking as well.

Since Nitro got his radio and is gone I'll keep this going until I get mine. I noticed the date for the radios on Horizon is now coming soon. I hope it's very soon.
