it's the hex start adapter. The part where I put the starting shaft into to start the heli. The set screw on that thing.

just get some set screws form ronlund.com
He can mail them out to you by first class mail for $0.60

Order 4-5 of every size and it will only run you $2 plus the shipping. Then you will have spares.

yes... that's the hex start adapter.. Make sure when you tighten the set screw that you tighten it down on the flat spot of the start shaft(the part the hex adapter slides onto).

Yeah, I know about the flat spot. I'm guessing the guy I bought it from didn't notice it. He DOES where some COKEBOTTLE glasses... maybe he just didn't see it. Doh!

I ordered two collars. I like having spare parts. lol.

I think I'll strip the canopy down and put some new graphics on it while I'm waiting for the parts. d*mn.. should have looked for those skids while I was ordering. Oh well. Good enough for now. D*mn.. should have looked for a BALANCER too... DOH!

Thanks for the info.

Electric

I am seriously considering a electric conversion for my Shuttle Plus when I put a Hughes 500D fuse on it.

well I pulled a page from csc.... and cut my servo tray to fit (2) 5s1p A123 packs stacked inside the frame. Now without packs the shuttle weighs 5lbs and the batts add 2lbs so RTF 7-7.5lbs.

not sure how the plastic tank/batt tray will hold out with 2lbs of batts but it balances nicely!!

The canopy actually forms a brace when it slides home on the bottom and clicks at the top.

Im itchin to fly it as it has been a LONG road.

Works great! One of my 6S 4600 lipos weighs 1.5lbs giving my ZXX an AUW of 7.0lbs. The flexible tray helps me out because I stuck a large velcro pad on the end of it for the battery. The flex helps me remove it. It has worked great for 100+ flights.

Let's see some pics!

QuickUK or QuickWW. Both about the same price, but the QuickWW is hillier style like the hawk pro.

I got a shuttle+2 in june and I love it. I've just got it all trimmed nice( spent the summer learning the mechanics) and I love it. It flys smooth, and is relatively hassle free. What is considered the best version, I always hear alot of talk about the zxx.

ZXX just has a full bearing lineup and thrust bearings in the main grips. The +2 also has a newer style tail case.

Need repair parts for Shuttle ZX

OK, It's been a few years since I flew the Shuttle ZX, but the last time I did, I crashed it, and now need repair parts.

What I'm looking for:

Tail assembly (casing broke in the crash)
Tail boom (or the specs, so I can cut an improvised tube)

I believe that the main blades are fairly common length, so that should not be a problem.

Also, how much motor should you put in this to convert to electric? I am flying an AXE CP electric, and it's waaayyy smaller than the ZX.
