Getting Hooked

Dave S,

Yes, you are right. Don't tell my wife. Ha I've got my 500 ready to go. Just checking the last little things. Got a couple of 6S 2500 lipos from XtremePowerSystems.net for $82 each. All I need now is a 6S charger. I thought the batteries would come with 2 of the 3S balance connectors. NOT. I'm really interested in the nitro conversion. I check Flyhelirus.com every day hoping for it's release. I was at NOMAC today cutting the heli and airplane area grass. Man every time I cut grass in the heli area, I always make a mistake and extend the cut area by a fence post or two. All ruts have been filled in the heli parking area. Asphault has been delivered along with sand to extend parking area south of cover for trailer parking. Lights and electrical outlets will be installed Sunday. Bob will be running a water supply to the heli area soon. Hope to see you at NOMAC this weekend.

Davek, sounds like a lot good progress at the field.
Those lipos seem like a good deal, can't wait to see how they run. There's definitely too many types of balance taps...

Built an A123 pack last weekend for my Protos, need to get some more flights in to get an idea if they are going to work for me though. Having to change my governor settings to use them due to there lower voltage under load. Got an icharger 1010b+ to fast charge these things at 10amps at the field.

TREX 500

Dave S.

Really enjoyed flying my Trex 500 Saturday and Sunday. Very fast and easy to handle. We are setting up for a cook out this Sunday. I will be calling everyone to let them know. Later

Matt

Went out to the field today to check out what you put in your last post. You are right, room for another 4 or 5 cars. I came across a stranger when I pulled up to the heli area, our electrician/pilot was there putting in the electricity, lights, receptacles, etc. He may not finish until the weekend but the electricity install is in progress. The construction of our new heli pavilion and field is truly unbelievable. All of the work was done by club members and was completed in 3months from inception to completion. A big thanks to everyone who helped. This was a true club effort. This is what our club is all about, friendship and working with each other to complete a common goal. Thanks to all NOMAC members.

A note to all NOMAC members , we are starting up our Cook Outs again this Sunday. As many of you know, last year we had several Cook Outs and they went over BIG. Its that time again. Cooking starts around 11am and the food should be ready around 11:30 or 12. If you have any questions regarding the Cook Out please call me at 451-2969 Dave Bertrand.

Electrical Update

To All, the light fixtures are up and the wire is installed to the light fixtures and the outlet boxes. The only thing still to be complete is to pull the conductors from the junction box on the fence and run the main wire across the back of the shelter. I will try to beat the bridge workers on Saturday morning.

Cranked up my TRex 450 tonite. Ran through it and wondered why I haven't been playing with it. When the blades got up to speed, I discovered the aerliron linages needed to be checked. Oh well...tile floor messed up the blades just enough to need new ones. one blade had a slight dent in it. Probably still fliable. I'll check.

New disks for G3.5 should be here tomorrow, so hopefully they get here and I can fly with you guys on sunday. I so need sim time.

The linkages for the airleron were not set properly AND the servo was wonky. Everything is fixed and I now have 3 flying helis.

Looking forward to possibly making it tomorrow. I have to go to Mt. Carmel tomorrow morning for an Easter egg hunt and to get pictures of Jack with the Easter Bunny, then have a birthday party to go to.

My son's party schedule is messing up my flying time. hehe

I think I may get his godmother to bring him to the birthday party and see if I can at least get out to the field to check things out.
