Definately Next Year

Thanks folks for all the fun. I was whooped by the end of all 3 days.

Nabi's hit on the wobbler (I think he was just trying to take out all the 30's, and got the right one!) was a classic! Well planned and executed sir. Having said that, he's got a bulls eye on his ass from 'Team Wobler'

Mark's inverted pass through the 450 obstacle course was another high point for me. Nothing more enjoyable than heli carnage! (OP's helis of course)

It was a pleasure to see Alan fly in person for the first time.

It's always a pleasure to see Bobby and Bert throw it down.

Even though my ass was dragging on the way home, my heart was a pumpin!

Thanks again for taking the time and effort to plan and run this event.

P.S. If anyone needs hand cleaner they can stop by my tent on the flight line for some Finish Line / Alcohol combo. I guarantee nothing will be 'alive' on your hands after that.

I dunno, but what comes around goes around for certain. LOL

Nabi was definitely the "sleeper" variable.

Ray kills me

When he reached over and bent the wobbler's flybar on the derby start line I almost laughed myself into a crap.

Tough crowd when glory is on the line.

Please lord let the movies of the derby come out clear with all the 'events' as they unfolded.

I have never seen a nitro heli take Foreign Object Damage created when another one exploded 5 feet away, while going through the hoop. Tough break Nabi, but what a cool way to go.

Hey... why wasn't the hoop on fire?? Oh yeah, damn state parks with their rules.

That was a long ride so give me just a little time to get the pictures and video going, meanwhile I could not let you wait for this one....

I am already looking forward to 2008's Derby after what I heard!

you are correct carey, this photo will loose most of its resolution when uploaded as fast photo but nabi's tail rorated about 20 degrees after the other exploed nearby. take note of how much the top of the hoop was bent by the exploding heli.

The Gathering

Had a great time again this year and was glad to fly with the north Jersey boys again Jayson (bl8zn), Tom (Misio), and John(Carcrasher) you guys are the best. Special thanks to Carcrasher for letting me put his Avant Aurora to the test, that heli is sweet And it felt even nicer with the higher resolution of the 14MZ. He convinced me not to give up my spot on the waiting list thats for sure. Lets just hope the release is not to far in the distant furture.

I know what it's going to look like already... I only had like a 2 hour nap Friday and we left at midnight drove all night.... well after having some of the great food there, a couple of brews to wash it down, that all she wrote

Please share, I can take it

Here is a video of Bert and Bobby flying some 50s together not planned.

Awesome Video, that was an incredible display. So cool to be right behind those 2 guys while they were thrashing those 50's around. The sound alone was incredible. Woo Hooo, good post!
