Thanks Everyone!

Just wanna thank the guys at Chula for putting on a great one(even though im a member). They did alot of work, and I know alot of people enjoyed the event, I sure did!! 30+ flights, Im pretty sure I had alot of fun The demos were great, and the food, raffle, events were awesome. Who ever won the RC tek 450, enjoy it, I was the one who originally won it, and donated it back. You cant belive how much slack I got for giving it back, the local guys wanted to blow it up.

Ill be uploading my pics in a couple hours.

Lastly, thanks for everyones support.

They just felt threatened by the new beastie on the block that seems to be getting a lot of interest. Nice flying by the way.

At any rate, what a weekend. I am sunburned and tired, but very happy I was able to attend and I appreciate the Chula Vista club hosting us. It was great to meet a lot of current customers and convert a few new ones.

A big thanks to Aaron Shell from RC-Heli magazine for his very nice demo of the RCT-450 Sky-Shark running the stock RCT-FM450 motor, RCT-40AGL ESC, and the new Air Thunder 2200 25C battery. Even in 12-15mph winds, he was able to go inverted and almost touch the head button on ground twice (yes, you could hear the blade tips scraping the asphalt)!

Looking forward to the next event.

Regards,
Scott

fwiw...

A great big thanks once again to the SD flying community for a great Fun Fly!
The flight line was one of the best I've seen, with good separation between the pilots and the pits/spectators.
I saw no incidents this year, everyone was having fun, the weather was terrific...
This fun fly is still what fun flys should be..All about flying, and pilots helping each other...I hope it continues for many years to come!!

John.

As expected, Buzzin' the Border did not disappoint. I had a great time with all of you, and probably did the most flying I've done at a funfly yet. Granted, a significant amount of my airtime was at night, but I like it better when it's not crowded...

On Saturday morning I got an unexpected surprise when Don asked me to run the Heli Rescue contest, rather than just compete in it. I was a bit rushed, as I hadn't even known what time it was supposed to take place, and perhaps a little bleary eyed from the night before. Even so, I really enjoyed being able to help out that little bit, and saw some nice precision work in that contest, particularly by Miki from JMD models, who snagged all five rescue figures in one minute and forty seconds. Nice work, Miki!

It was also a day for something new for me, as I decided to push past my fear a bit and enter the drag race with my 450. I had no intention of going for a win, and just wanted to try it and come out on the other side.

It's a good thing I had no intent of winning, as I sucked and got spanked, but I really had a blast doing it, and I'm planning and plotting on building a 4S drag racing machine for next year...

Thanks to all of you for making this a great event, and see you there next year, if not sooner.

Trooper Sam

I want to thank the Chula Vista Team -Art, Stelio, Sunny, Eduardo (and family), Ron, Bet, Harry, Son, Fran and Sofia (my wife)for all of their hard work all weekend long. Without you this event would not have taken place.

I can't remember the last time I hade such a good time at an event. This was the BOMB!!! Flight stations were a little cramped at times but overall. it was GREAT!!! Jason Bell, Bert and Brandon were very nice and friendly.. Jason was EXTREMELY supportive. Flew my Nitro Trex 600 a couple times and really helped me dial it in. Bert Did the same.. I'm REALLY feeling good about it now.
