I have a OS46SXH engine in my Raven 50. I have a FalconSE1 that is my back-up. Anyone have a recommendation for a engine for the Falcon or Raven which might be better. I just hover and fly around and have fun. I don't get to fly enough yet to work on any 3-D. Thanks Ron

i second the OS50 option, it has more brute power compared to the TT50, but the TT is cheaper by like $80.....

im going to skip right into the 60 size though.... i cant avoid the predator CCPM

RonaldC,

The OS 50 engine will not fit into the Falcon SE V1, without modifying the lower frames, or replaceing them. The carburetor high speed adjustment hits the frame. The easiest thing to do if you want to change to the 50 is replace the lower frames with the ones from the Falcon SE II, or the Raven, the same part. The cheapest thing to do is to make a horseshoe reinforcing piece for the frame and cut out the part where the high speed needle hits.

Hope this helps,

SteveH

Thanks Steve, I may just put my OS46 in the FalconSE and buy the OS50 for my Raven50.

Ronald,

Forgot to mention the most important thing. The OS46 is a good engine as you already know, however the OS50 is GREAT! It has substantially more power than the 46. The down side is it uses substantially more fuel than the 46. It takes power to make power!

Later,
SteveH

Ron,
I still run the 46 and just got the century millenium pipe, works great and power is real good, it won't bog under full climbout but i do get a little bogg doing stationary flipps but I have it set to flip pretty quick with lots of cyclic, I have't tried raising my mixing yet but I think that will take car of that.
