Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everybody who influenced my decision to send my R50v2 kit back and get a R60v2 instead.

I just received my R60v2 + OS70 + Mavrikk Muffler + TT Carbon mains in the mail today.

Having only built a Raptor30v2 I can only say - Wauv - This thing is so much bigger, better and nicer than its little brother. Had I kept the 50v2 and seen this kit afterwards I would have been sooooo disappointed I didn't exchange it.
And the OS70 - That's is one beautiful little bastard. I almost feel like buying another one just to put it on my desk. Can't wait to hear that puppy spin.

Again, thanks to Dazz and all the others who helped me make the right decision

I went from flying XCells to the Raptor 50, it didn't quite fit the bill but got me back into helis. I also just bought the R60v2 but with a YS80 and I love it. I am sure you will be very happy with it.

Hi Pete,

Compare R60 with XCell,
- which one you like to most ?
- how's your feel ?

Of course XCell is much more expensive then R60.

Runboy,
I don't want to hijack your post or anything but will answer the question raised.

Jack_R30
I think the R60 is a fine helicopter. It flies nice, is stable, stong, inexpensive. I believe it is all the helicopter a sport flier will ever need, and some folks are doing darn well with it in competition also. Is it perfect, no, is the Fury or Extreme perfect, no. There are problems with any helicopter on the market, they all have there share of problems. If you build the R60 as if it were an expensive helicopter it will be a nice flying machine, just slap any helicopter together and it will be problematic.

Runboy, glad to hear you received your R70, I know the feeling of getting a new bird. I know you made the right decision returning the 50, and getting the 60, just wait till you get it together and see how good she looks, you wont look back. Now you just have to take your time and build it right, I know you will though. Enjoy that bird, and if you have any questions regarding building, ask away, there are quite a few of us that have built these, and know them pretty well. Daz...

I've just done the same thing. Ordered a Raptor 50v2 from Cyberheli, and while I was thinking it over, decided to cancel and get to Raptor 60v2 c/w OS70 instead.
Didn't seem like there'd be that much difference between the Raptor 30 that I've got and the 50v2 so I went for the 60 .
Its wanging its way from HK as I type. Can't wait

Just out of curiosity what was the total on the Raptor60v2 with the OS70 from Cyber ? How much was shipping and does it come with Woodies/Carbons, muffler or any other goodies ?

R60v2 and OS70 came in at $780 (£480) with delivery. Got a few other bits as well, but thats the bottom line on the heli kit and engine.

Thats the standard kit c/w woodies, not sure if there is a muffler included but I'll put a pipe on it anyway so thats not a problem.

I don't know how that compares to the prices state side, but in the UK, it would have cost me about $1100 (£700), so even with delivery it represents quite a saving

Here in the states I don't think it is worth it to buy a kit from HK. Shipping kills too much. Avionics on the other hand you can save some money on by ordering out of country.
I bought my R60v2 in US and paid around the same as you, but got a little more stuff:

R60v2 + OS70 + Mavrikk Muffler + TT Carbon mains $789.99

This summer I am going back to Denmark, so then I will probably order from HK like you.

Do you guys have to pay tax when you receive a package from HK ?

I sent some Christmas presents to my family in Denmark. They got the package + a bill (tax) Merry Christmas Anything going in with a value of 45 euro or more you have to pay tax on.

So far I've been lucky with the orders shipped from HK. They have 'Toy Helicopter Parts' on the outside of the package and go straight through without any additional import taxes being charged.

When I've ordered stuff from the US however, I've sometimes had an additional charge to pay on delivery

Generally though, its still worth ordering from the US because even with additional charges it still works out cheaper than the Uk. For example, a Futaba 401 gyro with 9253 servo come in at $199 (approx uk£130).
The 401 alone is £140 in the UK, so I effectively get the servo free.

On the downside, any warranty claims could prove difficult but so far I haven't had to make any
