vigor cs with a ys 91 gearing&performance

I have a few flights on mine and so far I think its as good of engine as I've ever had. I'm running 700mm Vblades and wish I had some 720s. Its twisting the pee out of these. I'm Also running the 8.4 gearing with the MP2. I had to back the throttle curve way down from where I was running the 80. On the first flight the head speed was insane. Looks like we may have some good weather this weekend, if so I'll really wring it out and give you a further report on Monday. If this thing continues to improve I may go to the 8.0 gearing.

Mike,

I'm getting ready to install a YS .91/ MP2 in my Vigor CS. What fuel are you running? I'm assuming CP30 is still the preferred choice for this motor. Has any different fuel (nitro % or different oil package... maybe CP15 or YS 20/20 blend) been tried with good power results? I have also been weighing the option of going to the 8:1 ratio as it sounds like this motor along with the MP2 is making some serious power and the 8.4:1 ratio is not needed.
Also, you mentioned trying 720 blades. I'm curious if this length will work on the stock Vigor head without interfering with the t/r. Or, does this require the shorter metal Vigor head that Ron Lund is selling?

Thanks,
Tim

thanks for the info ,the cs will handle 720 main blades with 105 tail blades with no problems with the stock head.

Vigor CS

I flew my Vigor CS with YS 91 and CY muscle pipe with 720 blades and105 tail blades. I changed the gear ratio (added one tooth to the gear on the clutch blell), I am not sure how many teeth it is either 10 or 11 I can`t remember, The helicopter will Tic Toc like cravy and has enought power to do any manuever in the book and make you look like a pro. The heli is a little on the heavy size to begin with but the YS 91 with 720 mains and a 601 gyro is a sick machine. I am thinking it is a awsome FAI machine but it is also a 3D monster. I am gonn keep this heli for precidion for now because it is wild.

Oh yeah, I am also running 30% cool power. Awsome heli!!!!!!!

vigor cs with a ys 91 gearing&performance

Well I got a few tanks through mine yesterday. Needs 720 blades bad, 700s not near enough. I running Powermaster fuel. Forgot to mention that. May go with 710s off my other machine untill I can get 720s. The guy in the other post talked about his machine being heavy, mines 10lb 1oz with a new canopy I have coming I think I will be under 10lbs and that makes for awsome preformance.

YS Gearing

I'm running an 8.4. I think I'll stay there until I can get some 720 blades and see how that works out.
