Well If it wasnt for the grey market I dont think some people would be in this side of the hobby. How many people Andy can afford to buy a 3dnt in this country & kit it out with all digital servos? I know I couldnt! Maybe I could if I bought ALL the radio gear from cyber heli.
I buy my heli kits from uk suppliers mainly ERC. I buy the engines & mufflers too I may scour the pages of model heli world to get the best price as some of the advertisers prices vary & a zimmerman muffler can be £10 cheeper if bought at a certain shop. I buy all the gear from whoever can get it to me for the price I can afford we all have to make sacrifices so I buy my gear from a Banker Carps. Why pay £79.99 for a 9253 futaba tail servo when you can pay £62 delivered to your door next day, not next wednsday. shove the warranty if it gets trashed what you save over say four helis you could afford to buy another servo with & have spare change in your pocket.
Just my two penorth.

even w/o grey market, I was cruising
Midlands page.

I got my OS91Cspec for 269 USD.
The UK price was 330USD PLUS VAT.
So, in the end, it's 269 vs. 387.

Yes it is back online Tosh but this time only for shop sales! You have to take your goods into the shop so they can be put on the website then they sell them through the shop.
The forsale page is not back as it was, ie a free place to trade second hand items & sell your unwanted kit so you could afford to buy new.
I dont think a NB of this sort is needed in the uk as I actually created
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/secondhandhelis/join
a second hand helis forum on yahoo for people to sell there kit in skylines forsale pages absence but even tho its got 46 members noone seems to want to sell stuff on it any ideas would be apreciated to re kick start this unused forum.

You have not been shopping from the grey markets then,

I have bought 6 Futaba 9252 servo's for $432.00 US dollars they came straight to my door, the postman Knocked lucky I was home, handed me them through the doorway that in the UK would have cost £540.00 pounds, so bollocks to buying them here, I could not afford too,

So where do you get the other costs from ... THE ONLY THING I'M GONNA PAY IS THE CREDIT CARD BILL,

As for warranty, who give a #### , if I have a problem I'll send them to Ripmax, he he he they wont know, but who cares at the price i'll chuck em, or send them back to Taipei (spelt wrong),

I also buy from ricks rc, Ron Lund on a regular basis mail order no tax on purchase in states and no tax here it seems to get through he he he p.s. Ron's got some great deal on futaba stuff at the moment, he is selling 9252's at 89.00 us $ if you dont want to go the far east,

All you do is ask the gray market to put on the packet ''toy helicopter parts'' and it get through all the time he he he

Keep buying from the UK not,

I want it to be hobby, not a expensive obsession,

dhollein,

Is there still an RC Club at RAF Feltwell?. I pushed to start a club there and then I had to PCS. I know people has been flying RC there since the 60's but there has never been a "Club" there until 1998.
