Fall Pics

I had to post some of my fav fall pics... I love the colors and trees in these photos. I also like how the water looks flying directly over the center of the lake gettin these shots. All shot with RaptorCam on the Raptor 30 many years ago.. but they're still pretty!

Hi

I dashed out after work hoping to get some nice shots and more practise with the downlink but light was fading fast here, too fast.

I managed to grab this one which I'm not happy with at all, amongst others but time was against me.

I was inspired by all the lovely autumn shots and fancied having ago, well this was it, not good at all, but fun anyway.

Cheers

Lee

Hi John,

The above shot was from a church parking lot in Whitefish, MT facing north to Big Mountain Ski resort.

The below shot is from Lake McDonald, (Lake McDonald Lodge), on the west side of Glacier Natl. Park. This is about a 30 minute drive from Whitefish.

I'm in the lower right of the picture. First I had to "snowplow" a landing pad in the snow with my tx case

Cheers,
Jeff

Nice

Lee,
I think that shot is great. Little bit of "post production" and take the contrast down a hair and maybe a bit of the brightness out, but the composition is very nice along with the colors. I think you captured it well.

Jeff,
Well.......you know .
Sure helps when your TX case is a pelican for those "snow plow" jobs.

Pre-construction heli photo

I posted the heli shot that we used for a background last week, here is the final image with the proposed 9-story building added. The client was thrilled, they know we couldn't have done it without the helicam!

Here is the actual shot:

And here is the final:

This is much better than work!

Hi Greg

Did you 'shop' that in yourself.

If so excellent , as a mock up it works great.

Well done.

Lee:

Thanks! Yes, we did it all in-house. Created the building in 3D, lit and rendered it, then composited it in. I have a very good team here.

We do special effects for a living - movies, tv shows, whatever. We still do a lot of visualizations for construction projects, my background is in architecture, still keep my license from way back when! Here is the main company web site for special effects: http://www.pyros.com

A little lens flare, but that is still kind of fun sometimes.
I was surprised the sky still had blue in it. (not washed out)

Hi jeff

Nice one, I'll take a look over your site more often. Great info.

Do you set the shutter priority or keep it all on manual. ?

Cowboy and Jeff both... WOW!

Cowboy's shot of the sunset is one of the nicest I have ever seen, and Jeff's shot into the sun is my new wallpaper.. you'd think I'd use my OWN images for my wallpaper, but yours are so much better!

Great work everyone, keep it up... totally awesome,

Nice sunsets!

Hi Lee,

Everything I shoot is Shutter Priority at somewhere between 1/250 - 1/1000. Also, I was cleaning up my Inbox and I think you wanted a more detailed pic of the Joker. Here it is, but a little large:
http://www.gravityshots.com/heli/images/xmas_joker.jpg

No sun this morning, but the trees have an interesting layer of rime on them:

X-mas cheers,
Jeff
